The Equinox-class is a light cruiser designed primarily for scientific research and exploration. The Equinox-class is an upgraded version of the old Nova-class design, to which the USS Antietam was the most famous. The Equinox-class is one of the first new ship designs out of the new ship yards at Starbase 12.
