Main Bridge <USS Sao Paulo NCC-122004>
The main bridge is divided into three sections. Far to fore is an open area before the large viewscreen. This area also doubles as a walkway between the Captain and XO's offices to starboard and port respectively, the bridge staff breakroom to port, and a doorway to starboard which leads to the forward corridor and the conference room.
The central section, raised a single step from the forward section, is accessible from both sides. To the fore of this section are the helm and operations stations, with the XO, Captain, and Mission Specialist chairs at aft. The latter three stations are enclosed in a horseshoe like shape.
To both sides of the central horseshoe shape are ramps that lead up to the highest and largest tier of the bridge. On the starboard side is the engineering station with a large L-shaped console, and the damage control station behind it. To port is the communications station, again with a large L-shaped console, and behind it the science station. At the aft side of the horseshoe shape is the tactical station, and along the back wall are multiple auxiliary stations. Access to the saucer turbolift and a doorway leading aft are also available on this tier.

Lieutenant Commander Worthington arrives from Saucer Aft Turbolift.

Shulon had just arrived on the bridge as well, his antennae curl toward you, "Does your office have a lavatory as well?"

Worthington nodds. "It does indeed sir," he replies to the andorian as he emerges onto the bridge. "A neat touch that, though captain T'Shaav's small private cabin on Buran was also a nice touch. The xo's office on that ship however, well, it was smaller than the department head offices. This one is definitely the nicest I've seen sir."

Shulon says, "Ops, see if you can raise the Hegh'ta on viewer"

[Viewscreen (24434)] Communications channel to IKS Hegh'ta KDFV-3736 open.

Worthington watches a familiar bridge materialize on the viewer.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen raises an eyebrow as the call comes in, "Not who I was expecting to call."

Shulon's antennae quiver, "Bad time?"

Worthington wonders what the trill before him is doing, but raises no questions verbally.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen glances at his sensor display, "I doubt that anyone will catch this signal unless I'm very unlucky. If I was near Volan, I'd be concerned. What can I do for you?"

"We have a situation here, a temporal one." Chill says, "and while we have the largest collection of scientists aboard, they are all fairly green, and I wanted an expert opinion." He looks at Worthington to fill in some of the details.

Worthington nodds and approaches the screen. "Basically commander, the gist is this," he says. "We have a host of temporal anomalies in the Tessen system. They appear to be causing a convergence of quantum realities and timelines. We sent in a class 8 probe, and while we got one back, it wasn't ours, but one with a distinctly different quantum signature launched from USS Sao Paulo in another timeline or quantum reality. We then took the stardrive in to deploy a hazard buoy to warn away traffick. These anomalies are covering the entire system, making navigation difficult under best case scenarios, and downright dangerous otherwise. There was one event where we were displaced back to Tessen after arriving to rejoin with the saucer, and echos from a variety of timelines manifested aboard, present, past, and future alike, a whole host of scenarios. At first, they could not interact with us, but eventually, they noticed us. The longer we were there, the more of an effect those anomalous figures from other realities would have on our ship, and it was as if they were all converging on this point."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen replies to Chill, "I'm no expert, actually. I haven't had time to pick up the math and training to really understand temporal physics." He frowns at Worth's rundown, "From what I recall of our original visit to Tessen, it was theorized that the play of planetary bodies within the system was what caused the temporal phenomena that brought the Pretoria forward in time. The mineral composition within the system was such that we were unable to use the transporters without enhancers. It's possible that the system is going through an enhanced period of temporal instability, though it's also possible that the destruction of the Phoenix that contacted you also destabilized the system."

Shulon says questioningly, "I think Ensign Ryu was operating under the assumption this was a localized event, to a specific point in space, but if its the system itself, her solution won't work."

Worthington considers. "What we saw sir going in, there were a multitude of anomalies, system-wide. I will say this though," he says to the screen. "The effects of these anomalies have intensified greatly. They're no longer bringing single ships forward in time, but events from timelines and parallel realities across the spectrum. I can only imagine what the inhabitants of Tessen III are going through right now, and part of me definitely wonders if that other Phoenix's actions somehow punched a hole in the fabric of spacetime here and caused this drastic increase in intensity we are observing today."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen gets up from the center chair and steps over to the bar to fix himself a drink as he thinks. He frowns as he returns back to his chair, drink in hand, "We didn't spend any time to really survey the system. Our entire focus was on salvaging the Pretoria and reviving the survivor. After the survivor caused the troubles that James likely remembers, we departed and went on with our mission. Our findings showed that the Pretoria had only been on the moon for less than a year. We had no cause to look for anomalies or survey the system beyond determining how long the Pretoria had been there and how long after it's launch that it had been pulled forward."

Shulon asks, "is this situation likely to get worse then? Possibly expand? Is there anything we can do about it?"

Worthington nodds. "I definitely don't remember seeing a ton of versions of myself walking around, or other things like that for that matter, so things are definitely different here," he comments.

[Viewscreen (24434)] "Impossible to tell with so little data, Chill," Kellen replies before taking a sip of his drink. "You said you recovered a probe? An analysis of what it recorded may reveal details that are currently unknown." He glances at Worth, "If the Phoenix's destruction energized the phenomena, especially with a temporal signal already in place, it could've ripped open the space-time continuum. What kind of things from the future did you observe?"

"We downloaded the probe data, it has far more than it should. It collected data from multiple universes at the same time. It may not be completely legible." Chill asks, "I think we need to sort through it before we can consider sending it to you to look at. But, I'm not the expert."

Worthington nodds. "Things I saw included a timeline where the Dominion had taken over, one where admiral deGrutt was in command of either Phoenix or Sao Paulo, one where I was an admiral, another where Sao Paulo was destroyed and you were surveying the wreckage around Tessen and its moon, one where a Ferengi tried to buy Sao Paulo off me, one where captain Kemper gave an abandon ship order, Romulans in engineering, and more I just can't remember, past, present, and future commander."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen sips at his drink before frowning in thought, "The probe data is probably multiphasic, layered and layered with all the different timelines it observed stacked on top of each other. Running it through the multiphasic sensor processors might help with pulling out specific timelines." He takes another sip and grins at Worth, "Admiral Worthington? Now that's a scary thought, James." He frowns as something else that was said comes to mind, "You said there were multiple anomalies? How did you reveal those?"

Shulon says, "I couldn't tell you how many anomalies there are, only that the occurances of anomalous activity seems widespread."

Worthington nodds and smiles at the admiral comment. "We used a tachyon pulse commander," he says. "That helped us plot a course out of that mess. I will forward you the report I sent to the Sao Paulo archives, assuming you can access the Federation comms network."

[Viewscreen (24434)] "I'm off the Federation network right now," Kellen admits. "I was expecting a call, otherwise I would have had my comms set to minimal given where I'm at." He takes another drink, "A tachyon pulse? That's a brilliant idea. I would've been tempted to use the multiphasic sensors, but the tachyon pulse likely gave better positional data than multiphasic would have."

Worthington nodds. "Ensign Ryu's idea. She did a good job, likely kept us in our reality thanks to her actions," he replies.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen nods, "Good for her. She's probably more knowledgeable about temporal physics than I am, from what I saw of her record."

Worthington nodds. "I know a good bit about causality, at least somewhat, but not all the science behind it. I'm relying heavily on her right now," he says.

[Viewscreen (24434)] "Already got my replacement then," Kellen says with a grin. "I might just take a few years of leave then, go and see what Sybil is doing."

Worthington laughs. "What, and miss the first actual scientific expedition, major one at least, that Starfleet has done in years? That doesn't sound like you," he remarks.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen shrugs, "To be honest, I put in for leave before the reassignments. I may not be actually assigned to Sao Paulo after I return from leave." He glances at the sensor readings, "Plus there are things that need doing."

Worthington nodds, considering. "Just never thought you'd pass up something like this. What the captain said is true. Most of our science department is rather green. Considering that right now my best source of scientific advice aboard is an ensign on her second assignment. Don't get me wrong, she's quite compatent and intelligent, but doesn't have that degree of real-world experience that you have, at least in the sciences. She'll get that with time. This will truly be an amazing endeavor commander. Shame you're going to miss it. We won't be able to keep in contact particularly easily. Heck, I still have no idea where it is we will be going."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen finishes off his drink, "You might be stuck right there, monitoring the Tessen system for the next year. If so, I'll have dodged a dull assignment." He chuckles.

Worthington laughs. "Hopefully not, because I shudder to think what would happen to the people there if they're left in this condition. Insanity being the least of their woes. No, our plan is to try and rectify the situation here as quickly as possible."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen raises an eyebrow, "People?"

Worthington nodds. "It's an m-class world, and I recall it being inhabited," he replies.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen frowns and shakes his head, "I don't believe it was inhabited when we were there in the Phoenix. We were drawn there by the wreckage, and not once did we question whether it was of local construction."

Worthington considers. "We wouldn't, once registering human life signs aboard," he counters.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen shakes his head, "The person on the Pretoria was in stasis, we didn't know he was there until we recovered the wreckage."

Worthington considers. "Either way, the anomalies here are out of hand, quite out of hand. You should come and experience them for yourself," he replies.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen chuckles and shakes his head, "Not just yet. Sounds like I did though, since you mentioned I found wreckage."

Worthington laughs. "You from another timeline did," he replies. "I'm just glad to not be in another universe right now."

[Viewscreen (24434)] "It could be this timeline," Kellen notes. "You just haven't crashed yet."

Worthington shakes his head. "We aren't planning to. We're also not taking the saucer in if we can help it," he says.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen is very serious when he says, "It's something to keep in mind, James. Don't be dismissive until the Sao Paulo is on this side of Klingon space."

Worthington considers. "Given the circumstances, us all dying in pieces on Tessen and its moon, or me becoming an admiral, the admiralty is preferable," he replies. "I'm not a fan of temporal manipulation or time travel myself. I never feel good about it."

[Viewscreen (24434)] "Stop getting letters and you'll probably make Admiral, James," Kellen says with a grin.

Worthington nodds. "I made lieutenant commander, so heading the right way. You really should be a commander by now, commander. It really is a shame that you are alergic to red. You're good at it."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen sighs, "I've been a captain before with my own ship. Starfleet's requirements and paperwork aren't something I want to deal with."

Worthington nodds. "Well, whatever suits you then," he replies. "I'll forward my report to you, and see that probe results get sent to you as well. You may or may not be able to help, but you may be interested in the scientific finds regardless. Just be sure to pull any personal messages when you have access to the Federation comms net. If you need to reach us, and we're not out to deep space yet, send us a message, or if you need visual comms, see if Lya Station or Spacedock will lend you comms access for a brief time. I hear commander T'Shaav is chief of security over on Lya Station."

[Viewscreen (24434)] "I'll look at what you send me, but the probe results probably need to be run through the multiphasic processors to make sense of them," Kellen says. "And Hegh'ta isn't equipped to handle that."

Worthington nodds. "Of course. Still, the data we ultimately find may be of interest to you. Keep in touch commander," he says.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen pauses and chuckles, "Yes, T'Shaav's back in yellow again. That was a surprise when I stopped in to let her know I lived as I am."

Worthington smiles. "I doubt she'll stay there for long. Watch out, she could end up in command of that station some day. You never know," he replies. "I heard some stuff over comms about USS Alita, something about being boarded by Charles Tucker, distress calls, crazy stuff. Do you know what happened there?" he asks.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen shakes his head, "I'm cut off from Starfleet comms. There's no reason for Hegh'ta to have any ties."

Worthington nodds and then sighs. "Still, a man of your considerable tallents is bound to hear something from someone, somewhere. I may have to contact commander T'Shaav myself, get the official rundown of what happened. I'm a little surprised you haven't heard though. It's not like you to not be in the know. I believe Alita was supposed to be in the Lya sector or near there, so not particularly far from where you're likely operating, wherever that is. Do you make port anywhere in Federation space for supplies these days?"

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen raises an eyebrow, "I'm on leave, James. Where I go isn't Starfleet's business." He chuckles, "But I just left Lya a few days ago. Alita was there, but no one said anything about her falling into hard times."

Worthington nodds. "I overheard it on starfleet comms. Ah well. Should give Lya a call and see how commander T'Shaav is doing," he replies. "Well commander, I should be going. We've got a lot going on over here, shakedowns in between dealing with temporal anomalies. Keeping all of us on our toes."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen nods and smiles, "Try not to get wrecked while you're there. I don't have slipstream, so it'd take a while to get there for me."

Worthington smiles. "And if you do come, don't piss off the Rihannsu. They really, really don't like cloaked ships in their space, and as you said, you're on leave," he says with a wink. "Take care commander."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen shakes his head, "Klingon space is safer to fly through and the direct route from here."

Worthington nodds. "Indeed. Stay safe, and don't get into trouble with Cardassia. Not sure who would come to rescue you if you did. Good luck with whatever it is you are doing."

[Viewscreen (24434)] Kellen raises an eyebrow, "Cardassia? I'm just visiting some old friends, James. Hegh'ta out."

Worthington smiles. "You, not on federation comms, in that old bird of yours. Only one reason or 2 I can think of for what you are doing. Sao Paulo out," he replies.

[Viewscreen (24434)] Connection to IKS Hegh'ta KDFV-3736 terminated.
