Medical Complex - Port Wing <USS Phoenix NCC-170100-A>
The corridors of the medical complex are spacious and allow for easy access to the various sections. The walls and bulkheads are an unpainted titanium that reflects a natural blue-like tinge. This is accentuated by horizontal and vertical inlays in the walls of a slightly darker blue tinge, creating a half-meter square tile-like effect. The carpeting down the center of the corridor is a deep maroon with a thin band of light-grey trim, then to the walls it is a roughly a half-meter wide mocha-colour. Recessed lighting in the ceiling and along the floor boards provides ample illumination, adjusting in colour as the alert status of the vessel changes. Black, glossy panelling runs intermittently along the bulkheads at shoulder height, allowing access to the LCARS interface.

Sawyer is, given so many sickbays aboard, hanging out in one of them somewhere between Nolen's layer and his own.

Chilis's antennae scope out the room as he enters. Not empty, but certainly quiet. "Phil, you got my note, and I got yours. Got some time?"

Sawyer nods. "Come right back," he says, smiling and keeping his tone casual while not speaking of details.

Exam Room Three - Port Wing <USS Phoenix NCC-170100-A>
The exam room isn't much more than a small alcove off to the side of the general medical wing. It is used for general examinations, and for treating less serious, and certainly non-life threatening injuries. Medical professionals have a variety of tools and equipment and their disposal here for diagnosing patients. The walls and bulkheads are an unpainted titanium that reflects a natural blue-like tinge. This is accentuated by horizontal and vertical inlays in the walls of a slightly darker blue tinge, creating a half-meter square tile-like effect. Recessed lighting in the ceiling and along the floor boards provides ample illumination, adjusting in colour as the alert status of the vessel changes. Black, glossy panelling runs intermittently along the bulkheads at shoulder height, allowing access to the LCARS interface.

Chilis follows you in, now in relative seclusion. "So, what options do we have?"

Sawyer nods to the biobed. "Have a seat," he says. "The trouble with altering you to look human is your antennae. If I remove them, temporarily, yes, I could regrow them, but if I did that, you'd have vestibular issues. Balance problems. So I'm thinking keep them, but disguise them. Plus, we have to cosmetically alter your face, but that's simple. Just try not to bleed, ok?"

Chilis hops up onto the biobed, "If I want to pass for a Terran, I can't keep the antennae. But I am rather fond of them. A hair piece maybe?"

Sawyer nods. "I'll have to graft it into place. Can't afford it to peel up on ya." He walks over and sets the door lock. "Don't want any damned interruptions." He comes back over. "Does Tink know at all what ya plan? If she's in the know, that's one thing. If she's not, that just means somethin' else."

Chilis doesn't nod his head as you work, "I mentioned it to her, but I don't think she believed me." Sawyer starts working, giving you a local anaesthetic and calibrating a protoplaser. "Gonna have to do something about that bluish complexion. That ain't normal for us unless we're drowning." He works quietly, molding your facial features. "Could probably use a skin dye for your whole body in case you need to seduce someone. Awkward questions and all that." he smirks.

Chilis says, "Terrans often say they feel blue, like its a bad thing. I don't get the comparison." He smiles, "I don't expect it will come to that level of intimacy. But there are shared showers and things of that nature in the enlisted decks."

Sawyer grins. "That's a metaphor. They don't turn blue when they get depressed." He pauses. "That would be kinda interesting, a race that turned colors when their emotions changed. Anyway." He keeps working. "Aiming for a nondescript look. If you're handsome as adonis, or plug ugly, you stick out."

"Being able to blend in is helpful, so average looks." Chill says. "Too extreme in either direction often draws attention."

Sawyer nods. After a few more minutes, he sets the protoplaser down. "You can check out my handywork soon. Now then." He thinks about it, and then asks the room's replicator for a brown hair piece in a generic Terran styling. "I'm a doctor, not a barber. We'll get this in place, make sure it conceals your antennae, and that will not be comfortable for ya, and then we'll style the hair a bit. Skin dye last. That'll take a few minutes, and you'll um ... need to check it."

Chilis asks, "Check it?" He continues to sit patiently as you work.

"You'll want to strip and make sure your legs aren't still have blue. I'll give ya privacy for that," he claps you on the shoulder. "Ok, time for hair. Can you, hmmm, make your antennae lie flat?"

"Ah, ok." Chill replies, "Will I recognize myself in the mirror even?"

"Nope, and neither will anyone else." Sawyer begins bringing the hair piece towards your head and antennae. "Ready?"

"I believe so." Chill says, the antennae as far back as they can go.

Sawyer lays the hair piece over your head, making sure the antennae don't make a lump in the material. When he's satisfied, he uses a dermal seal to bond the edges to your head, making sure that no wrinkles appear in the hair piece. Right now, the hair is everywhere. He steps back. "Still ok?"

Chilis is still holding his head still, not really wanting to move. "I feel like if I move my head something bad is going to happen, so I've avoided that so far."

Sawyer grins. "Smart." He calibrates a hypo and injects you with the contents. "Your skin dye. It's something I prepared when I got your note. Now I'm gonna cut this hair. Do you want a fleeter haircut? Or something more civilian?"

"That is a very good question." Chill replies, "Being a fleet may have its advantages, but civilian does as well. Can we do something in the middle?"

He smiles. "Something so that you can be either one, depending on who you're around and what your legend needs to be?"

"Exactly." Chill replies, still avoiding nodding. He does however note the change in skin tone. "That is mildly disturbing."

Sawyer grins. "I'd feel the same if I turned Andorian blue or Orion green," he says. Picking up a laser tool, he orders a mirror to pop out of the wall across from you, and he starts to trim the hair. "Check out that face." His attention between the mirror and your head in front of him, he works carefully. The result is a short cut, longer than a freshly-inducted fleeter, something that wouldn't raise eyebrows within or without the fleet. "Anything longer and someone would order you to get a haircut. Anything shorter, and nobody would think you were civvie. Check it out."

Chilis pauses for a moment before looking in the mirror. "That. That is quite something Phil. I certainly don't recognize myself. Lets just hope I don't scare myself one day walking down a mirrored hallway."

Sawyer grins as he finishes the hair trim. "Alright." He walks around you, inspecting your appearance. "I've known you for years, and if I didn't know that I'd done the work, I wouldn't recognize you."

"I still need to work out a suitable personality to use." Chill says. "I've never pretended to be a Terran before. Any nuances I should be aware of, that aren't obvious?"

Sawyer thinks about that, finally shaking his head. "Terrans come from a wide variety of colonies as well as any number of places on Earth. I'd say either go with a locale you can bullshit with because you know it decently, or pick a colony world unlikely to be known by lots of folks. Mostly, avoid talking about where you grew up. Don't give anyone the chance to pin you on a discrepancy."

"That makes a lot of sense, thank you Phil." Chill replies, "A Terran only colony also makes sense, it may allow for some ingress points."

Sawyer nods. "Exactly. Most of these people seem to keep themselves to themselves. Just be careful, Chill. I want the chance to undo my handywork, not explain it to your next of kin."

"Speaking of", Chill asks, "How much work is it to undo this? I assume it won't come off in the shower?"

Sawyer shakes his head. "I've made alterations to your skin and the underlying layers. I'll need to undo it." He looks at you. "If you were captured, tortured and mutilated about the face and head, some of it might come undone, like the hair. We don't want that to happen to ya."

"I don't want that to happen to me either." Chill replies, "But noted all the same. I guess if I get into a fight, I'll just have to make certain they never touch me." He smiles.

Sawyer nods. "Exactly. Your blood is still blue."

Thomas checks himself in the mirror, "You do good work Phil, thank you for this. I'll ring you up if I run into any trouble."

Sawyer nods. "Be careful out there. Good luck."

Thomas heads out, looking quite different than how he entered.
