The '''Horatio-class''' is a heavily armored heavy cruiser, redesigned following the failure of the Deployable Armor System, to withstand heavy bombardment during combat situations. Its external hull has been modified with heavy armor plating, as has many internal components. The class was one of the few designed for utilizing the dual deflector shielding recently designed at [[Antares Ship Yards]].

The Horatio-class bears resemblance to the 24th century [[Ambassador-class]] vessels, which saw service up to and including the [[Dominion War]].
