K'maq is the current ruler of the Klingon Empire. He has one daughter, Soq, and a large extended family through his brother. Like most Klingons he enjoys battle and drink, either at the same time or separate.

== Description ==

At first appearance, K'maq appears old and fat, but his size is misleading, mostly from the clothing he often wears; A large bulky coat made of dark leather with a fur collar. He is not tall for his species, but not short either. One might guess he was a formidable warrior in his youth. The fool might guess he no longer is.
Draped over his shoulder is a sash depicting many of his victories, but most specifically it displays his rank of Chancellor of the Klingon High Council.

== History ==

K'maq has been Chancellor since the year 2405, Federation time. There were no notable wars or events during his tenure so far, except for an internal rebellion that began in 2428. With the assistance of Starfleet, primarily that from [[USS Phoenix]] and her crew, the rebellion was discovered to be masterminded by a Changeling who had been stuck in the Beta Quadrant since the end of the Dominion War.
