The '''Khitomer-class''' is the first cruiser constructed combining Starfleet and Klingon components and design priciples. The vessel radiates a fierceness, common with Klingon designs, as it does share similar design queues to K't'inga-class vessels of the past two centuries, though twice the size. The long argued weakness of the thin neck of old has been replaced with a broad hull several decks tall. To the fore of that neck is the typical saucer section common with Starfleet-designed vessels. Not a wide saucer, at only about a third the width of the vessel overall, but it is taller than typical, in its own way mimicking the bulbous nose of the K't'inga. The massive nacelles hang low off the angled down wing tips.

The Khitomer-class vessel is a long range multi-mission cruiser, designed to function independently or as part of a larger fleet. The design incorporates a ventral docking port to accommodate a [[Courageous-class]] auxiliary vessel.

The spine of the craft includes the relatively new [[Starfleet_Ship_Weapons|Torpedo Phalanx Array]], capable of launching 16 [[Starfleet_Ship_Weapons|Type III Micro Quantum]] torpedoes at its target.

The class also includes the newly developed [[Starfleet_Ship_Weapons|Disruptor Emitter Arrays]], a combination of Starfleet phaser technology and Klingon disruptors, resulting in a more powerful disruptor with a full 360 degree firing arc.
