Morqath is the current ruler of the Klingon Empire. His father is Rodek of the house of Noggra, but secretly, Rodek is the new identity of Kurn, brother to Worf, son of Mogh. He is a proud warrior, with strong beliefs in Klingon heritage.
Description
This average height Klingon has a wide forhead, atop which is a prominent set of ridges. His long black hair hangs loosely over his broad shoulders. His voice is a deep baritone, it has a warmth to it, but also invokes fear in his enemies. Draped over his shoulder is a sash depicting many of his victories, but most specifically it displays his rank of Chancellor of the Klingon High Council.
History
Following the death of K'maq, Morqath and Qorn, son of Toral, became challengers for the throne of the Klingon Empire. In a surprising move, K'maq nominated a Starfleet Officer as the Arbitor of Succession, LCDR Ketrinca Svetzvani. During the right of succession, evidence was presented that suggested Qorn was responsible for the death of K'maq. This ultimately lead to his exile, and Morqath succeeding to the throne. Contact with the Klingons since then has been minimal.
