The Achilles-class is a pure fighting machine, designed to impart a massive volley upon an enemy shields in a single hit. It is as long as a Galaxy-class starship, but only 12 decks tall, so it presents a much smaller target.
History
Technical Data
The Achilles-class vessel includes a toned down version of the Phaser Spinal Lance, the Phaser Lance. In fact the Achilles-class includes six Phaser Lances situated on the curve of the nose between decks four and five. These six lances combined are capable of unleashing triple the fire power of the Phaser Spinal Lance, and are powered by a dedicated warp reactor.
Along the dorsal spine of the craft are 16 micro torpedo launchers, eight to port and eight to starboard, a prototype Torpedo Phalanx Array.
