- River Skral <Korvat tengchaH>
- The central hub of the station is a green space nearly half a kilometer wide. The area mimics the River Skral, a famous river in the northern hemisphere on the Klingon homeworld. This river runs red to honour the slaying of Molor by Kahless. A plaque next to the river mentions that water from the real River Skral runs here, adding to its authenticity and cultural significance.
- A feature of the space, towards the forward port side, is a variation of an ascention chamber, where a Klingon could practice the Rite of Ascension and symbolically become a warrior. Tall ornate pillars mark the pathway to ascension, with raised platforms between each where the eight warriors with painsticks stand.
- Out the viewport: The yellow hue of the nearby star can be seen.
Temple walks out of the Turbolift, he is dressed in his Starfleet Dress Uniform, he holds a padd in hand, he walks over to Kadn and says "Admiral"
Kadn nods to Temple, "Commander." he idly comments, "I see several civilians here, unexpected, but also welcome."
Temple nods and says "Well I feel we should aim to make this station a hub like Deep Space 9 was and its replacement Emissary Station will be, the commercial traffic is as important to this station and both the Federation and Klingon Empire will benefit from it in time"
"The civilian freighters and their supplies they brought to and from Klingon worlds played a big part in our good relations with the Klingson." Kadn smiles, "Not to mention my wife was the Arbitor of Succession. She's kept up good relations between the Federation and Klingon Empire as well."
Morqath growls as he overhears, "Did someone mention my Arbiter?" He and chenHoS join Temple and Kadn in their conversation. The latter on the heels of the Chancellor.
Temple nods and says "Admiral Svetzvani, achieved quite a feat here Admiral, you have every right to be proud of her" he moves aside for Morqath and says "You did Chancellor, I hope the station meets with your approval?"
Kadn nods to Morqath, "Chanceller, good to see you again. I am pleased we were able to work together on this." He adds with a smile, "I know of many eager engineers, your Lieutenant here included", he nods to chenHoS, "who want to dive in and see what sort of technology we can come up with as we pool our talents together."
Morqath growls towards Temple, "That remains to be seen. But what I have seen thus far is acceptable." He nods to Kadn, "Yes, I hear one such project may be ready for today's ceremony, but chenHoS has been neglect in informing me on what it is."
chenHoS says, "Not neglect, Chancellor, I do not want to spoil the surprise."
Temple nods and looks to Kadn and Morqath and says "With your permission Admiral, Chancellor, I would like to open up the ceremony?"
Morqath growls assent at Temple.
Kadn nods, "By all means Commander."
Temple looks down at his padd and makes a note to discuss port and pad assignment policy with his staff.
Kadn asks Temple, "Are you expecting trouble Commander? I noticed the shield systems have been powered."
Shalta arrives from Central Starboard Ring - Level 75.
Temple looks at his pad and looks to Kadn saying "Negative sir, the station shields are not active sir according to my uplink"
Temple hmms and says "One of the engineers probably doing a last minute shield diagnostic, I've just depowered them, I'll investigate further when the ceremony has concluded"
Rathus walks into the vast space from starboard, slowly picking and choosing his way toward the center and the crowd of people.
Kadn nods to Temple. "When you are ready, Commander."
Temple walks over to a podium and adjusts a couple of microphones and says "Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed officers of Starfleet, honored members of the Klingon Empire, and distinguished guests-Qapla'!" he places his padd down on the podium and looks over the spectators and officers as he continues "Today, we stand at the threshold of history, bound not by the void of space that separates our stars, but by the indomitable will that unites our hearts and minds. It is with immense pride and the deepest sense of responsibility that I address you on this momentous occasion-the naming ceremony of this magnificent space station, Korvat tengchaH." he pauses as he taps in a few commands into his padd
Morqath growls in agreement at the Klingon name with a fist bump to his chest. Lieutenant chenHoS mimics the action.
Rathus looks around the crowd, apparently scanning for familiar faces, though seeing none, he finds a spot between a couple of crew members to watch.
Kadn's eyebrow raises briefly, but falls as he cracks a small smile.
Temple he looks over at the crowd and spectators and then down at his padd and continues "Korvat. A name that means something different to each of us here. For Starfleet, it recalls the site of pivotal diplomatic discussions between our Federation and the Klingon Empire. For the Klingons, it represents a legacy of strength, honor, and resilience. And for all of us, it signals the beginning of something new-a partnership of trust and purpose, forged not in battle, but in the hope for a brighter tomorrow...." he looks over at the spectators, he has a confidence in his tone as he speaks and continues "...The Korvat tengchaH, is more than just a marvel of engineering. It is a shared dream brought to life. Constructed with the brilliance and ingenuity of Starfleet engineers and the unwavering determination and vision of Klingon warriors and architects, it represents what we are capable of achieving together. Today, the galaxy witnesses an unprecedented collaboration, a symbol of unity between two powers who once gazed upon each other with suspicion and hostility....."
Morqath proclaims, "To the Empire!"
Kadn nods to Morqath, "Qapla'"
Rathus smiles at the dignitaries from his position back in the crowd.
Temple taps in a few commands into his padd as he continues "...But this station is more than a static object in the great expanse of space. It is a living testament to the resilience of peace. Its design incorporates a state-of-the-art dry dock facility, ready to repair and build vessels of exploration and defense-piloted by both Starfleet officers and Klingon warriors. Its halls are designed not to reflect the aesthetics of one culture, but to blend the traditions and strengths of both. Here, science will be advanced, warriors will refresh their blades, and together, we will chart a unified course into the future..." he smiles as he picks up a glass of water and takes a sip before continuing "...The Korvat tengchaH is a station built equally from tritanium and courage, from duranium and trust. Make no mistake-this is not the product of simplicity. Peace between our peoples was forged in the fire of hardship, loss, and compromise. The animosity that once burned between the Federation and the Klingon Empire was vast, seemingly unbridgeable. And yet, we prevailed over it. Not because it was easy, but because it was right...."
chenHoS taps a few things on his own uplink, getting the surprise ready.
Kadn listens intently to the speech Temple has obviously put a great deal of effort into.
Rathus keeps his eyes on the presentation, his antennae bobbing around as he absorbs the feelings of the crowd.
Temple looks over his padd and ponders on something and then continues "...As Commander Spock famously said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." Today, the "many" is a concept far larger than it was when those words were spoken. Today, the "many" includes not only Federation citizens but Klingon citizens as well-not divided, but unified in a shared mission: exploration, cooperation, and the pursuit of greatness..." he takes another sip of water and continues "....To my Klingon friends and allies, I say this: It takes great courage to trust a former adversary. You have shown that courage. You have chosen, not the path of isolation or division, but the one of opportunity and honor. Together, let us honor that choice not just with words, but with actions befitting of our commitment to one another. I believe the honored dead of both our species would find glory in what we do here...." he taps in a few more commands into his padd and continues "...And to my fellow officers in Starfleet: Let this moment serve as a reminder of the value of diplomacy and perseverance. We are strongest not in isolation, but when we open our hearts to diversity, even when that diversity challenges us. Our duty is to seek out new life and new civilizations-not just beyond known space, but in our understanding of one another..."
Rathus continues to listen to the speech, nodding at the words, and not portraying awareness of what he sensed from the Klingon lieutenant.
Kadn continues to listen, but does not interrupt.
Temple continues to look down at his padd and says "...Look to the stars above us. They are countless, beautiful, and timeless. Our unity does not diminish their radiance-it enhances it. Together, the Klingon Empire and the Federation will explore beyond the reaches of our imagination, and the Korvat tengchaH will be the launchpad for these remarkable new expeditions...." he looks over the viewing spectators, officers and dignitories and continues "...And while this is a day for celebration, it is also a day for resolve. The Korvat tengchaH will host people from two very different cultures. There will be challenges in the years ahead, moments of conflict and misunderstanding. But let this station be a constant reminder: peace-true peace-is not the absence of those challenges, but the determination to overcome them, again and again...." he taps in a few commands and says "As we dedicate the Korvat tengchaH, I do not see a Starfleet station or a Klingon outpost. I see an extension of our shared ideals. I see a future where mutual respect guides us, where the thirst for exploration outpaces the impulse for conflict, and where the bonds we forge here ripple outward into the galaxy...."he picks up the padd and says "..So, in the spirit of Klingon tradition, let us raise a toast: To Korvat tengchaH. May it stand for centuries, a beacon of hope, strength, and cooperation. Qapla'!" he raises his glass of water in the manor of the toast and takes a sip and says "And in the spirit of Starfleet tradition, let us look to the infinite possibilities that await us. As we might say, Second Star to the Right-and straight on till morning." he nods to kadn, Morqath and chenHoS and the rest of the spectators and says "Thank you" he steps down from the podium and makes his way back to Kadn
Rathus claps politely from his place in the audience, glancing at each of the dignitaries on stage as he does so.
Morqath pumps the air with a fist, repeating the Qapla chant over several times, chenHoS joining in. "Qapla! Qapla!" Other Klingons assembled join in as well. Eventually the roaring subsides long enough for Morqath to address Temple directly, "Commander, you spoke with honour, I am pleased I will not have to kill you today." He chuckles. "Now, where is the bloodwine?"
chenHoS sends his signal to begin.
Kadn joins in on the chorus of Success, clapping as well. "excellent work, Commander."
[Remote Monitor Uplink (13758): A vessel begins to decloak at coordinates: 2021665153.921 -815465907419.720 -12348492.872]
[Remote Monitor Uplink (13758): New contact: IKS q'paQ, 360.0 mark 0.0, range: 4.0]
Temple looks towards chenHoS questionably before looking to Kadn and says "Thank you Admiral..." he looks at his uplink and says "We appear to have a surprise vessel uncloaking beside the station" he looks back to chenHoS
[Remote Monitor Uplink (13758): IKS q'paQ opens an airlock, launching a barrel towards the station. It careens through space, striking the side of the station and bursts open. Bloodwine spilling out and freezing in place.]
chenHoS says, "I have studied Federation traditions in this manner. A celebatory gesture when naming a vessel." He says proudly to Morqath, "I also introduce the first of the vessels this station will construct. The q'paQ class bird of prey."
Morqath looks out the viewport and chuckles, "Is it far away? Why is it so small?"
Rathus smiles at the viewport and cheers as the barrel of bloodwhine crashes into the station. He smiles.
Kadn nods to chenHoS, "Congratulations Lieutenant. I look forward to getting a tour of this ship class."
Temple chuckles and says "Nice touch Lieutenant, it isn't a proper naming ceremony with out a good bottle of champagne smash or in this case Blood wine against the hull" he looks at the bird of prey and says "Very good Lieutenant, you'll have to take the Admiral and myself on a tour of the bird of prey, the station will of course be constructing other classes of ships including a upgraded Defiant Class that I am currently working on which is in the design phase"
"Enough of this chatter", declares Morqath, "Let us drink!" He slaps chenHoS on the shoulder, "I am certain it is a fine vessel. But perhaps next time build something of some stature." He chuckles, "I hope you didn't waste all the bloodwine on the side of the station?"
"Of course not Chancellor." chenHoS nods to Morqath and the others. He signals for the bloodwine to be brought in. "Time to celebrate, as the Chancellor decrees."
Rathus watches as the bloodwhine is brought in for the celebration.
Temple nods and says "I believe the proprieter of korvat tengchAh's own Quarks has prepared the neccessary requirements for teh after ceremony party" he smiles
Kadn sticks with a glass of ice water as he begins to question chenHoS about the q'paQ.
Zahn arrives from Central Turbolift.
Morqath asks, "To Quark's then?"
chenHoS signals the q'paQ to land.
Temple nods to Morqath and looks to Kadn and chenHoS and says "Gentleman, shall we head to Quarks?"
Out the viewport: IKS q'paQ begins landing procedures.
Out the viewport: IKS q'paQ maneuvers in and lands at Korvat tengchaH.
Kadn is speaking with chenHoS about the new ship design. THe conversation somewhat technical, engineer to engineer.
Morqath growls, "We have bloodwine here, we shall finish it, then head to this Quark's."
Temple is standing near Kadn and Morqath, he nods and says "Understood" he walks over to a bottle of champagne and pours himelf a glass and takes a sip.
