- Quarters C70F3 <Emissary Station>
- The quarters aboard are spacious and built for a single occupant or potentially a couple. The deep blue carpet is soft and thick, giving the room the appearance of a still ocean. Before the door is a sofa and two armchairs, arranged around a mahogany coffee table. To the left of the entrance is a small dining table, placed in front of a replicator, and an ornate sculpture above which is a row of shelves. A bedroom can be found through a doorway to the side of the compartment. Off the sleeping area a single door leads to a bathroom. The lighting, while adjustable, is at a default setting that causes the overhead panels to bathe the room in a soft, welcoming glow.
The door chime at Out sounds, "*be boowoop*"
You knock with 'Come in...'.
Captain T'Shaav arrives from Central Fore Ring - Level 70.
Miriella is dressed like she's readying for sleep. She's out of uniform with her long hair braided and rested over one shoulder. "Captain," she greets, sounding mildly startled by the visit.
Your empathic abilities sense "the Vulcan's emotional state, once you can read it, might read is angry and confused, though they would feel different, governed, than they do in another." from T'Shaav.
"Doctor, pardon me for disturbing your off-duty time," the Vulcan says. "First, are you familair with recent events on the staton?" She stands near the door, having not moved once she entered.
Miriella tilts her head slightly as she watches T'Shaav for a moment. Then, without warning, she turns to her replicator and commands it to conjure a kettle of hot water. She returns to T'Shaav with a small tray with two teacups. They're unlike any found on the station and certainly unlike any that would come from a replicator. They're porcelain with gold filigree arranged to form a picture of a tree. She sets it down on the table and then removes a small wooden box from a storage compartment. She sets it down on the table, opens it, and takes some loose leaves from inside. Each cup gets some. "No, I...I don't think so?" she answers hesitantly. "I mean, the protesters, obviously..." Miri goes back to get the replicated kettle of hot water.
T'Shaav observes what you are doing with curiosity. Making tea. But she is still focused on the conversation firstly. "Doctor, 4.1 hours ago, Doctor Tikar was working with science officer davis, Lieutenant Ko, and others in the science lab. When the doctor and Lieutenant Davis appeared to make a positive breakthrough in their agricultural technology work, and upon my granting permission for an away mission to Bajor, Lieutenant Ko approached the doctor, made a statement to me, and beamed away with the doctor. She transported to a Klingon-built bird-of-prey, the kind used nowadays for cargo running, and took the ship into Cardassian territory before we could stop it."
Miriella takes all that in as she focuses on her preparation. The leaves into the cups. The water onto the leaves. The Betazoid holds the cup out for T'Shaav to take. "Jestrel tea," she explains. "From home. It's real." She smiles. "It is known to ease anxiety and stress." With that settled, Miri takes a breath. "I guess that was the report I received," she realizes, looking up at the Vulcan. "I heard the jingle when it arrived, but I thought it could wait until tomorrow morning..."
[Telula's Commbadge] Incoming communication request from Captain Ki'Vek.
T'Shaav takes the cup. "Thank you," she says. She sips, and you would sense her actively rechanneling her emotional responses into logical thought, though therein lies the confusion. The logic has nowhere to go. She asks you now, "Doctor. I am aware of your telepathic abilities and I know your medical training. I have come to ask you one primary question. Did you notice anything out of the ordinary in Lieutenant Ko over the past several weeks? Anything which, in retrospect, might explain the facts I have set forth?"
Miriella glances at the side table where her commbadge rests. "I'm sorry, Captain," she says. "Just a moment." Miri walks over and waves her hand in the air at T'Shaav. "Drink you tea, it's good for you," she notes. Miri taps the commbadge with a slap of her palm and answers it.
You tap your commbadge.
[Telula's Commbadge] Opening communications channel from Captain Ki'Vek.
"This is Doctor Telula. If this is a medical emergency, the duty staff is more than capable of addressing it..." she says in a hurry.
T'Shaav sips her tea, quietly.
[Telula's Commbadge] "Doctor Telula," comes an airy, almost hissing voice. "This it is Captain Ki'Vek. There is no medical emergency."
"Captain Ki'Vek," Miriella greets, sighing ever so softly. "Now's not really a great time." Her voice is gentle, but...
T'Shaav sips her tea again, not interrupting.
[Telula's Commbadge] "Very well. Please contact me at Antares when the timing it is better," replies the Selay. "Ki'Vek out."
[Telula's Commbadge] Captain Ki'Vek double taps her commbadge.
[Telula's Commbadge] Connection from Captain Ki'Vek terminated.
Captain T'Shaav taps something in on the computer interface panel.
T'Shaav finishes her tea. "Doctor, your work at Antares is important, but I want you to take time to look through Ko's physical records. All of them. Find out whether anything ..." she thinks for a moment, "whether anything is anomalous in any way. I warn you, you will likely find nothing, but one must check."
Miriella takes a breath and turns back to T'Shaav. "Sorry," she says ruefully. The Betazoid gently takes the other teacup with a level of care she only displays when performing medicine and clears her throat. "Right, so, Lieutenant Ko..." she says, looking upwards, as if trying to summon a memory. "Captain, the truth is, I don't think I've spent hardly any time with her. Him? No, wait, her. Her." Miri nods. "Sure, I'll go through them," she agrees.
T'Shaav nods. She is not disappointed, hardly surprised. It was a longshot. She sets her teacup down and turns to go. "DOctor, thank you for your hospitality. Remain aboard EMissary until I release you to Antares for your work there. This matter shall take priority for now. Good evening."
Miri nods and starts walking towards the door to see T'Shaav out. "I understand," she replies. "I'll get to work on those records right away." Then, at the last possible moment, she adds: "Captain? Are you alright...?"
"Sometimes, I am all wrong," T'Shaav replies in the darkest irony that Vulcan logic and federation standard can manage. Saying no more than that, the Vulcan captain exits.
Captain T'Shaav goes Out.
