- == Dojo - Saucer <USS Phoenix NCC-170100-A> ===================================
- This spacious compartment is designed to look and feel like a traditional Japanese Dojo. The walls are covered in bamboo panels, and the floor in safety mats. Illumination is bright and airy, coming through the wall panels, and similar panels in the ceiling.
T'Shaav has her shoes off and is going through a set of Vulcan defensive exercises on one of the mats. She seems intent.
Madhadaa steps into the Dojo, dressed casually and not as a cowboy this time. He sheds his footwear and bows to the floor in the manner of the tradition he was trained in before stepping onto the floor and finding his own mat to begin stretching on.
T'Shaav eyes the Betazoid. "Were you thinking of attempting to best me again, Mr. Choma?" She asks, clearly remembering her last match down here and the alert that ended it.
Nolan follows in shortly after in his repurposed scrubs. He sets his medical kit off to the wall and claims a mat of his own, starting to stretch. "Don't forget our appointment either Commander" he quips, smiling. "But I can wait my turn".
Madhadaa continues his stretches even as he shakes his head, "I don't see Worth here to lend a hand, so I doubt that I'd be able to best you this time. Though a match wouldn't be amiss to keep skills fresh."
T'Shaav rolls to her feet. Since she stays out of security, this sort of thing tends to be her only version of her old squad sparring training. Then again, as first officer, it doesn't do to order the young NCO's to spar with her. She assumes a defensive stance, recalling the Betazoid's style and rappidly preparing herself. "Very good. You may begin as you like," she offers.
Nolan takes up post off to the side to watch the match, hovering right by his medical kit just in case the pair decide to really go all out
Madhadaa doesn't rush his stretches in an act that would obviously be intended to test the patience of anyone other than a Vulcan. He then steps onto T'Shaav's mat and bows to her, turning the bow into a forward flip to scissor kick her.
T'Shaav has a certain respect for the pilot and is, naturally, not caught unawares. She steps aside, letting his forward roll carry him on. As his body is about to hit the mat, she almost gently uses one fott to shove him into an untidy mess. Perhaps she's playing with him, not that she'd admit it.
Madhadaa senses the movement even as he finishes rolling out of his initial attack and manages to agilely twist aside. He gives T'Shaav a respectful nod, before moving to engage more seriously, striking out with an elbow strike.
T'Shaav blocks the elbow, taking the blow on her upper arm. Her other fist comes in hard and low, aiming for the rib cage revealed by Choma's still extended arm.
Madhadaa is already twisting aside, building up momentum for sweeping kick to the Vulcan's midsection.
Nolan raises an eyebrow at Choma's blows to T'Shaav, focusing in on his movements
T'Shaav takes that blow. On the ground, she snaps a foot outwards for a snapping kick to the Betazoid's knee.
Madhadaa avoids the snapkick with the grace of a dancer and instead of disengaging, he moves to press the attack having been on the receiving end of one of T'Shaav's blows before that ended the match prematurely. He aims a kick for her hip, while the Vulcan is in an awkward location.
T'Shaav is rolling away, so the kick in question inflicts a bruise with which she will have to deal. Moving to her feet, she faints, then moves in, aiming a jab, but fainting to a punch as Choma starts to counter.
Nolan seems a little relieved to see the Commander finally connect on a strike
Madhadaa gets caught by the feint since he was continuing to press the Vulcan as she got to her feet. He doesn't let it slow him or stop him, reaching to grab an arm to try to throw her back to the mat again.
T'Shaav rolls backwards, slamming both feet up towards the Zoid as she hits the mat.
Madhadaa is slightly surprised by the use of one of his own moves against him, but not so surprised that he isn't already moving to rob the kick of some of it's force. He kicks out at the Vulcan before she can fully regain her feet.
T'Shaav rolls to her feet, showing no sign of her reaction to that last kick. She moves in lightning fast, slamming one hand out in a strike of clearly Vulcan origin. It's not a fist, but it would hurt all the same.
Madhadaa does give a slight wince at that blow, having entirely misjudged what was coming so he took the full force. But he does not let it slow him down, returning it with a strike of his own.
T'Shaav dodges nimbly and, while the Betazoid is momentarily off balance, goes into a fast whirling kick. Objective, wherever it may land.
Madhadaa moves once again with a dancer's grace, avoiding the kick but returning it with a leg sweeping kick of his own.
T'Shaav jumps over the kick, turning in mid-air, fist lashing out once again to take out the pilot.
Madhadaa uses his momentum to spin away from the strike and set himself up to try to give T'Shaav a shove with his foot to help her keep moving after her jump.
T'Shaav does keep moving, spinning into a turn and striking out with a straight-legged kick this time.
Madhadaa barely manages to absorb some of that blow with his arm, stepping in and attempting a move that he usually avoids. A Klingon headbutt.
T'Shaav takes the headbutt for the chance it offers her to bring up a knee into the Betazoid's midsection.
Madhadaa avoids the knee so that he doesn't have to worry about having to sing soprano and responds with a snapkick.
T'Shaav whirls away from the snapkick. She circles, faints a kick, but lashes out with a fist instead, aiming for the Betazoid's blindside.
Telepathy? Just good training? Who knows, but Hatter doesn't fall for the feint and avoids the strike as well. He spins into a back kick, hoping to catch the Vulcan offguard.
T'Shaav takes a glancing blow from the side of the Betazoid's foot. She launches a snap kick of her own as she keps moving.
Madhadaa slips aside of T'Shaav's kick, moving in to strike with an uppercut.
T'Shaav is knocked unconscious.
T'Shaav wakes up.
T'Shaav feels the snap of bone as her jaw breaks. Glancing clinically down at the green blood on her fingers, she nods impassively to Choma in congratulations. Then she sits on the mat before she can collapse and fall on it, seemingly semi-conscious.
Nolan nods towards Choma in congratulations before grabbing his kit and heading over to the striken Vulcan, pulling out his medical tricorder.
Madhadaa steps back and bows respectfully to T'Shaav before saying, "I think it's your turn, Doctor."
Nolan chuckles. "In a moment, I think the Commander might want a painkiller at least..." He says, scanning her over. "But damn if you didn't break her jaw..." he says, starting to dig through his kit.
Madhadaa slumps to the mat himself, breathing heavily. "I didn't mean to break her jaw, but Vulcan's are tough. I didn't want to hold back either."
"No, and it's a clean hit for sure. It was impressive to watch... I'm gonna shoot her with some nanites, do a little bone setting and stitching, enough where moving her won't be the worst thing" Nolan says, turning to regard the semi-conscious Vulcan. "I'll have you patched up before you walk out, but I gotta get you good enough to slump on the wall and lick your wounds first" he says, preparing and injecting a dose of nanites.
T'Shaav sits on the mat, using her own methods of bio control and pain suppression. Her facial expression doesn't alter, but she doesn't speak either, not with a broken jaw. She does raise an eyebrow at the doctor's last comment, however.
Madhadaa chuckles at Nolan's attempts at humor, even if his patient won't.
There's a soft puff as Nolan injects the nanites as close to her head as he can and the nanites swarm to work. "Given about five or so minutes, they'll pull her jaw back together and start stringing it back together. She'll need to come down to the medbay so that we can push the bone stitching along natrually and get her jaw to regrow into itself more or less, but this will go a long way into fixing things"
Madhadaa says to T'Shaav now that Nolan isn't working quite so urgently, "Thank you for the match, Commander. There's a few things I think I still need to learn about your style." He rubs his chest where that Vulcan based punch caught him by surprise.
Your telepathic ability allows you to hear T'Shaav's thoughts, "You are welcome, Lieutenant,. Another time."
T'Shaav tilts her head slightly to one side, but makes no audible reply.
"It was interesting to watch the both of you... Commander, I'm going to work on some of the other strikes on your body while the nanites do their work, please tap me if you're experiencing abnormal discomfort" Nolan says, rolling up T'Shaav's sleeves to deal with some of her bruises and even a couple of cuts. "You really didn't hold back"
Madhadaa nods in acknowledgement to T'Shaav but answers Nolan, "We can't hold back at our skill level, Doctor. It would be insulting to the Commander if I fought at less than my best, and I need to be at my best to handle her strikes in return. Otherwise, the match would end all too soon and neither one of us would gain much from the match.
"This is true" Nolan says, pulling out the auto-suture. "Will you still be wanting a match with me as well?"
Madhadaa chuckles, "I think I need to be checked out to see if I got anything more than bruising first. But if you want to spar after I've got a clean bill of health, I'll be glad to. Though you might find it harder to hit me than the Commander did."
"We'll see... Hmm.. A trip to sickbay might be warranted for us, the Commander's not looking super great. You did a LOT more subdermal damage than I might've thought just looking" Nolan comments. "She's not in a terribly bad way but I don't think she feels great. Could you keep her company while I grab a grav-gurney?"
"I'm not in any rush to go anywhere just yet, Doctor," Hatter replies.
"Lovely, just keep an eye on her and we'll all head to sickbay where I'll patch her up and check you out" Nolan says. "I've got her commbadge linked to mine for monitoring, but if you don't like something call me. I'll be right back"
ch'Vyran goes Out.
Nolan returns, pushing a grav gurney.
Madhadaa continues to just sit there, watching over T'Shaav.
Nolan gives loading her up into the gurney a go
T'Shaav shakes her head, declining the girney. She finally stands. "I will walk, Doctor. Thank you," she says, now that she can say something.
Nolan huffs a little at that, but nods. "Can you escort her down to my sickbay in 27 while I return this cart?" he asks of Choma
Madhadaa gets slowly to his feet, "I think I can find our way down there, though the saucer sickbay is closer."
T'Shaav says, "Significantly."
"Either one works, I'll find you" Nolan nods.
