Diplomatic Officer's Office <USS Phoenix NCC-170100-A>
This dedicated office is large and designed to meet the needs of the officer and billet assigned to it. The carpet is steel-blue with navy-blue trim, with the bulkheads, walls, and furniture in a subdued pewter colour. The room is bathed in a soft glow from the overhead lighting panels, and a glossy black panel set into the bulkhead opposite the door provides access to an LCARS interface. A sizeable desk is positioned in the center of the room, with a tall backed swivel chair behind it. A display curves out of the desk with a touchpad set into the desk at its base, and on the opposite end is a tall, built-in lamp. In front of the desk are two mid-sized chairs, and two workstations are built into the bulkheads on either side of the room in small cubicles.

[Anewan's Commbadge] Sending request for communication to Lieutenant Commander Worthington.

[Anewan's Commbadge] Worthington says, "Worthington here."

Anewan says, "Do you think the Sheriff has had enough time to consider our offer?"

[Anewan's Commbadge] Worthington says, "Possibly sir. Shall we go find out?"

Anewan says, "I think so. Suit up in local garb and meet me in Transporter room one.""

[Anewan's Commbadge] Worthington says, "I will see you soon sir. Worthington out."

Anewan is already at the transporter console, "Let's transport to the crash site to be safe and make the walk."

Worthington enters and salutes, stepping on the pad. "Ready when you are sir," he says.

Anewan nods, "Energizing. Remember, let's be delicate and alert."Anewan looks around after the transport and says, "Remind me to get Ki'Vek to find that mural for us? Ready?"

Worthington nods. "Yes, I am commander." He makes to head out.

Anewan nods, "Lead the way James. We are still on first name basis in the town."

Worthington nods. "Yes Jim," he says.

Main Street <Carorkon III>
Somewhat straight, this dirt path follows along the various buildings of the town center. For the most part the ground is loose dirt, with very little signs it has ever seen rain water. The only parts that are packed down, are the wagon ruts that go straight down the center.
If one didn't know any better, they would swear they just walked into an old west town of 18-19th century america. The typical store fronts are also here, including the barber, grocer, sherrif, and of course the saloon.

Fudd is talking with a crowd of people in the middle of town. "I swear to you, its the truth. Humans have technology equal or better than what brought our ancestors here. I've been to their ship. They want to take us back to Springfield."

Anewan looks at James and says, "This is going to be a tough one," he heads towards the sheriff.

Worthington nods in conscent, following.

"It's a Kuvassian trap!", comes one of the townsfolk. A few others beside him yell in agreement. "They want to enslave us again!. We'll fight back, and win like before!" The crowd cheers, a few gunshots into the air are fired. "Hang em all!"

Anewan rubs his neck arriving at the group then says in his best western clapping the Sheriff on his shoulder, "Howdy Partners. We are from the north and we know Springfield is still out there. Give us a chance to prove it to you."

Worthington follows along, letting the diplomat do the talking.

Several of the guns and rifles are trained on the away team. Fudd calls out, "No no, they mean no harm. These are the ones who took me to their ship."

"They are Kuvassian sympathizers, get them!" The charge is called out.

Worthington moves to stand between anewan and the crowd, one hand resting on his revolver, one on a rather particular part of his overcoat.

Anewan raises his hands, "Springfield is out there!" he orates, "And with that, water. No Kuvas. More humans more opportunity. Hear me out!"

Fudd has lost control of the crowd, if he ever had it. There are a few who sense the incoming trouble and run for cover in the shops. But a group of four, and Fudd, all have their guns drawn, pointing at the away team. "Never thought I'd live to see a Kuvassian sympathizer. I reckon we need to gut them, see what drove em crazy on the inside." One of the hoodlums fires their rifle from the hip, missing Anewan by mere inches.

Fudd shoots blindly down the walkway East.

Worth with a knowing look then to the Sheriff trying to get him to lower his weapons.

Anewan dodges the bullet even if he didn't even have to, "Please, just hold on one second. Let me explain. This has nothing to do with the Kuvas. They can never go back to Springfield," he looks at Worth with a knowing look then to the Sheriff trying to get him to lower his weapons.

Worthington holds off, for now, his eyes narrowed. He doesn't comment on what Anewan is saying, but he maintains an alert expression.

Fudd draws his revolver and fires it to the sky. "Everyone calm down." This has the opposite affect however on the four thugs. Three of them jump for cover, but their guns trained on either the away team or Fudd. One, the leader, draw his own Colt and shoots at Fudd, straight in the chest. Fudd drops to the ground, then everything goes to shit and the bullets start flying.

Anewan dodges more and more, "Get us out of here James. Emergency transport. I'll Get Sickbay ready."

Worthington yells into his badge. "Worthington to phoenix! 7 to beam up. Have security and medical teams standing by, transporter room 1. Energize, and get us the hell out of here! Disable all weapons on transport."

[Worthington's Commbadge] Energizing...

Transporter Room One <USS Phoenix NCC-170100-A>
The first feature of this room that catches one's eye upon entering is the large circular dais located to the left of the entrance. The transporter platform is marked with placeholders for six people, and the ceiling above is fitted with a variety of equipment to aid and assist the transport process, as is the platform itself.
Opposite the transporter platform on the other side of the room is the transporter control console, which bestows the system operator with a variety of tools to fine tune the process. The curved console is set into a circular platform, in much the same manner as the transporter system itself.

>Intercom< Anewan says, "Medical Emergency. All available to Sickbay."

Fudd is laying on the transport padd, but there are four cowboys brandishing weapons beside him. They are dazed by the transport, but still armed. A few of the guns go off wildly.

A soft alto feminine voice says, "*** ALERT *** : Weapons fire detected in Transporter Room One."

Coil shows up in time to duck a shot and immediately draws his phaser, returning fire against one of the cowboys.

The gunpowder based weapons still function, as the system attempted to merely depower any weapons brought aboard.

A soft alto feminine voice says, "*** ALERT *** : Weapons fire detected in Transporter Room One."

Coil shoots an attacker.

Worthington should really take a phaser, even on these primitive contact missions. Alas, he doesn't want to kill anyone, so he moves to try and tackle one of the cowboys on the pad.

Anewan presses a button sending Fudd to sickbay then gets back to the 4 cowboys, "Hold on," he yells, "Hold on. What do you see around you?"

The four cowboys are stuck in the corner, and aren't smart enough to work together to get out of this mess. One scrambles over towards the transporter console, looking for cover. In these close quarters though when they fire their weapon they hit a comrade in the back.

A soft alto feminine voice says, "*** ALERT *** : Weapons fire detected in Transporter Room One."

Coil gets a feel for what's going on and resets his phaser, setting it for wide beam and a frequency to heat the pistols before shooting at the cowboys again.

Worthington turns to anewan. "Try and beam all their weapons out of here. I don't care where. See if you can disarm them," he says. "Gun powder weapons. Wanted them to be non-functional. Alas."

Anewan is near the console near the place where one of them took cover. He goes across the console trying to remove the gunpowder weapons and send them back to the planet

The two remaining cowboys drop their pistols as the metal burns their hands. Unarmed, they charge whoever is closest.

An attacker tackles Worthington

An attacker tackles Coil.

Whatever comment he was about to make dies on his lips as he gets tackled. Coil responds in kind, trying to knee the cowboy in response.

Coil tries to kick an attacker

Worthington is silently cursing himself. "Where's that damn security team?" he says, moving to try and tackle one of the remaining cowboys.

Worthington tries to tackle an attacker but fails.

Anewan is at the console. He simply attempts to lock on to the 'cowboys' and transport those back to the planet.

As quickly as they arrived, the four cowboys are transported away, and back down to the surface. Fudd remains, unconscious on the deck plating.

Coil gets up and shakes his head, "Where did you beam them to, Jiemba? The brig, I hope."

Worthington considers. "My hope was to disarm them, and try to reason with them in a secured environment. Obviously, that failed rather spectacularly. I'm not used to dealing with primitive weapons," he says with a sigh.

Anewan shakes his head, "back to the planet. Why did you bring them up James?" he considers the room and says. "I am going to send the Sheriff here to medical," he looks at Kellen, "Your timing was impeccable."

Security and medical arrive in the transporter room, right on time as usual.

Coil frowns, "Get them back up here, Jiemba. If you leave them down there, they'll convince the people that we're in league with the Kuvas, and that the Sheriff has turned." He glances at his up link, "I got notification that one of the locals was beaming up, but I guess the computer was delayed in reporting that you two were beaming up with them, so I thought we might have an intruder."

Worthington turns to anewan. "Apologies commander," he says. "I thought the safest thing at the time would be getting everyone aboard. They were already stirring up trouble, and I figured if we could have security standing by and render their weapons inoperative, perhaps we could talk some sense into them. Obviously, I was mistaken, and our transporters weren't up to the task of handling this."

The medical team see to Fudd, "Need to get him to sickbay." One team member says. Another is scanning Worthington and Coil, "You two will need a once over as well."

Anewan considers Coil then considers Worthington then takes a deep breath. "I guess now is as good as anytime," He goes to the console and he reverses the commands. "Transporting them to the brig. Cell One. Put up the force field Commander."

Coil looks at the collection of weapons on the deck, "At least they should be disarmed now, unless they have a knife or another weapon."

Worthington nods. "Forcefields up commander," he says.

Anewan nods, "This was a disaster. But at least we have the most angry of the group onboard. I'll go down and talk to them after I write this report," he turns to Coil, "Thanks for being you Kellen. Everyone to Sickbay."

Coil leans up against the bulkhead, "It may not be as much of a disaster. If I read the reports right, you have the most trusted person in town currently being tended to by our medical teams, and you now have the worst troublemakers in the brig and probably needing medical attention. Might be able to get through to both sides." He frowns thoughtfully, "You could use the holodeck, run them through what they missed out here."

Worthington nods to coil. "Convincing the town was always going to be a tough sell, and if we hadn't shown up, the sheriff might be dead by now. Who knows what would have happened had the rabble rousers been left behind," he says. "They could have been handled a bit better I admit, but it is good to have that bunch under wraps. I recognize a few of them from kuvassian hunting parties and a lynch mob."

Anewan nods to James, "Did you?" he considers. "I guess, it was bound to happen. I am not sure how the Kuvas were even brought up. We are officially considered sympathizers."

"Is that any surprise?" Kellen asks. "We show up, ask questions, have no idea what's going on, ask more questions about the Kuvas, don't react the same as the locals." He chuckles, "Starfleet's always had a habit of standing out, even when they aren't trying."

Worthington nods to coil. "An easy thing to do. We had no deep cover team here surveying this planet. We knew their tech level, and that's it. We had no idea of 700 years worth of history. That made infiltration quite difficult. That bunch too, rather narrow minded, with a high degree of blood lust," he says.

Anewan nods, "We will figure it out. This may have a consequence of an out lash against the Kuvas. Let's make sure we let our team know down there," he pauses. "Next time we go down, I will carry a phaser."

Coil shrugs, "I think it's an out lash against change, to be honest. These people have lived this way for as long as I have been alive, and they've been isolated and under fear of the Kuvas the whole time."

Worthington considers. "Possibly," he says in agreement. "Those in particular have a deep seeded hatred for the kuvassians, and they also have a love for hunting them down and killing them. I'm not leaving the ship without a phaser again, however the hell I have to carry it."

Anewan nods, "We let the Sheriff decide what to do next. He knows better than us."

Worthington nods. "I know," he says. "We'll need to keep a very close eye indeed on that bunch."

Anewan nods at Coil then at Worthington, "Lets get security and operations to clean this up. OK. We have planning to do for out next visit."

Coil heads for the exit, "Don't forget my suggestion on using the holodeck to show how things have changed back on Earth. Might want to skip over the wars though."

Worthington nods. "Good idea. Though until they're calmed down significantly, I'm inclined to conduct conversations through a force field," he says.

Anewan nods, "I will. I'll have security with me."

"They should be calmer after a chance to think instead of react," Kellen observes. "They sound to be bullies, so lashing out is their default reaction."

Worthington nods, heading for the door. "Let's head to sickbay ourselves. Commander Anewan, you're not the only one with a detailed report to write," he says.

Anewan nods, "Let's hope. See you guys later. We still have work to do down there."
