- Cetacean Operations Pool Access <USS Sao Paulo NCC-122004>
- Operating as a junction point between the air filled compartments and those filled with water, this compartment houses what is called 'The Pool' in the floor. Roughly four meters across, the pool directly connects to the various tubes and tanks utilized by the Cetacean crew.
- There are additional stations here for bipeds and other land-based crew, as well as those lining the outer ring of the pool entrance for the Cetacean crew.
Jessica is slamming the door of the equipment locker, now stripped down for a swim, still with her gear in hand. She holds both underwater devices.
Worthington nodds as he enters in his swimming atire. "Mind tossing me one of those?" he says, jesturing to the breathing devices the ensign is holding.
Jessica hands you the one in her left hand. "They look easy enough."
Worthington nodds. "They are," he says, taking the proffered device and afixing it to his face. He steps to the edge of the pool and bends his knees before jumping into the water.
Jessica slips easily into the water at the same time.
- Cetacean Tank 8C (flooded) <USS Sao Paulo NCC-122004>
- This large compartment is typically flooded with water, and offers the Cetacean crew a place to relax when not on duty. The walls and bulkheads are an unpainted titanium that reflects a natural blue-like tinge. This is accentuated by horizontal and vertical inlays in the walls of a slightly darker blue tinge, creating a half-meter square tile-like effect. Recessed lighting in the ceiling and along the floor boards provides ample illumination, adjusting in colour as the alert status of the vessel changes.

Worthington swims to the lock door and jestures as he hits the catch release. He sees his uplink and responds.

- Wet/Dry Access Lock (flooded) <USS Sao Paulo NCC-122004>
- Operating similarly to an airlock, this compartment is an additional access point into the submerged tanks and tubes utilized by the Cetacean crew. A series of controls on the interior wall can control when to flood the compartment, or when to drain it. Only when flooded can the inner door to the Cetacean tank be opened. Similarily, only when drained can the outer door to the corridor be opened.
Jessica looks around.

Worthington nodds in affirmation.
[Remote Uplink Device (25803): Worthington Uplink Device (16491): I assume you will want the lock drained for the instalation?]
[Remote Uplink Device (25803): Hauser Uplink Device (25803): Easiest way would be to beam the damned thing in. But it might not be that simple. It never is. Yeah, a dry install would be a good idea.]
[Remote Uplink Device (25803): Worthington Uplink Device (16491): Beaming the damn thing in is still a decent idea with something that big, but yes, a dry install would definitely be less complicated.]
Jessica grins.
Worthington bobs a bit in the water before finding the inner door panel and sealing the lock.

[Remote Uplink Device (25803): Worthington Uplink Device (16491): Excellent. I've never seen this done, so can you tell me, will these lockers be able to survive submerged for extended periods?]
Jessica walks on her hands around the floor of the airlock, clearly having fun. She squints at the message, thinking about it, then makes a seasawing motion with one hand and adds a shrug, which has to be a downward gesture in this position. Then she types.

Worthington nodds as he swims over to a control panel in the center of the lock. He points it out, and depresses something on the panel, then returns to his device.

Jessica says, "Ok, ... so, I could skip down to industrial and try to get a locker beamed in here. If it won't beam, I'll have to get some of the boys to manhandle it on an AG sled."
Worthington takes his device off and shakes his head. "That's not an issue if the lock works to spec. Those doors won't open unless the lock is properly cycled. The real concern is civilians, children in particular, opening the hatch, coming in here, messing with the controls and closing the hatch, and flooding themselves in without safety gear. That's just a problem waiting to go wrong," he says. "Oh, if you need help man handling the thing up here, I'd be happy to. There is one other thing however," he concludes, again pointing to the controls.
Jessica says, "What's that, sir?"
Worthington looks over. "You know how the airlocks can be remotely operated from the bridge or other suitable location with a console?" he queries. "This lock cannot. I would not want it operable from the doors for obvious safety reasons, but an uplink or a console should be able to cycle the thing. The only way to cycle it is enter from the side its cycled to, rather inefficient. If you need to access deck 8 in this area, it doesn't make sense to enter from deck 6. I was wondering if someone could look in to hooking the controls in here to the ship's computer, so the lock could be operated from a station in operations mode."
"You mean, the only way to open this lock is to either walk in from deck 8 when it's dry, or swim down from deck 6 if it's flooded, no other ways to do it, right?" She clarifies.
Worthington nodds. "Precisely," he replies in affirmation.
"I bet the design engineers did it that way for the safety factor. After all, you can do almost anything from almost any console. But I'll look into it. I'm going to head down to industrial. You want to come with or wait for it to beam in here, sir?"
Worthington considers. "I'll come with," he says, heading toward the hatch. "Probably best not to be standing in the room where a multi ton piece of equipment is to be beamed in."
- Industrial Replicators <USS Sao Paulo NCC-122004>
- This facility is used to replicate parts required to repair and maintain the ship. The center of the deck is taken up by a large platform several meters in diameter that can be used to replicate anything from a nail to a piece of the ship's superstructure. There is also a transporter pad in one corner, and a tractor beam emitter built into the ceiling to allow for the transport of heavy or unwieldy items.
Worthington is standing in the room off to one side.
Jessica enters after another minute. "Looks like item 2. You ready for me to replicate it?"
Worthington nodds. "Yes," he replies, standing well out of the way. "I'm ready."
Jessica says, "Ok, there it is. You want to try beaming it into place through your remote, sir?"
Worthington nodds. "Will do," he says, tapping his uplink device. "You have the tools you will need to hook it in to ship's power?"
Jessica taps an equipment pod on her belt. "These should do it."
Worthington nodds. "Here we go," he says, tapping a prominant key on his display's current configuration.
A shimmering swirl of colour engulfs Equipment Locker.
Jessica says, "Ok, easy enough so far. Ready?"
Worthington nodds. "After you," he replies.
Jessica grins. "Or, you could just, ya know, beam us there."
Worthington grins. "You know," he says, tapping. "I could."

Jessica crouches and looks over the connections. She swears under her breath. "I'll have to get some equipment and Petty Officer Smythers. We'll get it connected, but I'd not flood this lock until later, sir."
Worthington nodds, thinking. "I'll post a security team to prevent any unauthorized access by civilians," he replies. "Once we get all that worked out, we'll flood the lock again."
Jessica says, "Alright. I'll make sure we get you a note as soon as it's connected to power. You ready to head up and change, sir?"
Worthington nodds. "Indeed," he says.
