"The learning of languages it has become somewhat rare, thanks to the development of the universal translator," Ki'Vek says, still studying her tricorder. "I myself have never learned anything other than Federation standard and my native Selay, but I have a great admiration for those who do." She closes her tricorder and turns to LePage. "The cloaking system she appears to be fully repaired, Lieutenant."
"For now" LePage says, some disdain to the system. "It's a cool piece of tech, but it's gonna be a royal pain in my rear. I feel it in my bones already"
Ki'Vek looks between the cloak and LePage, contemplating the meaning of the phrases he just used. Without asking for clarification she shrugs her narrow shoulders and packs up her tools. "Ki'Vek to bridge," she says into her commbadge.
Lieutenant Ki'Vek taps her commbadge and says, "Ki'Vek to bridge"
[Ki'Vek's Commbadge] Sending request for communication to USS Himalia NCC-99904.
[Ki'Vek's Commbadge] Communications channel to USS Himalia NCC-99904 open.
[Ki'Vek's Commbadge] T'Shaav says, "bridge"
Ki'Vek says, "Repairs on the cloaking system they have been completed, Commander. We're just cleaning up down here now."
[Ki'Vek's Commbadge] T'Shaav says, "Acknowledged. Well done, Mr. LePage. Lieutenant Ki'vek, hopefully our difficulties provided you with more useful data points."
"Thank you Sir" LePage says, bending over to pick up his tools and dispose of the old componants.
"If Lieutenant LePage's prediction it is correct," the snake says. "This cloaking system it is going to be... a cause of pain in our bones. He says he can feel it in his rear."
[Ki'Vek's Commbadge] T'Shaav raises an eyebrow. Looking serious she asks, "Should we advise Doctor Sawyer of physiological side effects?"
"Very strongly too!" The Terran adds, not even attempting to correct
Ki'Vek says, "I believe it was a metaphor, Sir. Though I don't quite understand it, myself."
[Ki'Vek's Commbadge] "Ah," T'Shaav says. "In any case, I think we can foresee being limited to low warp at best if detection is to be minimized. This is a situation where speed or stealth are available to us, and we only have the luxury of one."
"I can agree with that assessment sir" LePage says. "It's a battle of compromise with this one"
