[Tilar's Commbadge] Incoming communication request from Lieutenant Commander Hauser.

You tap your commbadge.
[Tilar's Commbadge] Opening communications channel from Lieutenant Commander Hauser.

You say, "This is Doctor Tilar."

[Tilar's Commbadge] Hauser says, "Hey. Hauser here. You ok?"

You say, "Me? Yes, why?"

[Tilar's Commbadge] Hauser says, "Just checking. Why don't you get your superheroine gear and come to holosuite 2."

You say, "My what?"

[Tilar's Commbadge] Hauser says, "Your superhero mighty girl costume. Or, just come in uniform. Holosuite 2." She chuckles.

Tilar sounds incredibly confused. "O...kay... I'll be down shortly."

[Tilar's Commbadge] Hauser says, "Great! Out."

[Tilar's Commbadge] Lieutenant Commander Hauser double taps her commbadge.
[Tilar's Commbadge] Connection from Lieutenant Commander Hauser terminated.

The door leading to Holosuite 2 swooshes open.

Main Bridge <USS Phoenix NCC-170100-A>
The main bridge is divided into three sections. Far to fore is an open area before the large viewscreen. This area also doubles as a walkway between the Captain and XO's offices to starboard and port respectively, the bridge staff breakroom to port, and a doorway to starboard which leads to the forward corridor and the conference room.
The central section, raised a single step from the forward section, is accessible from both sides. To the fore of this section are the helm and operations stations, with the XO, Captain, and Mission Specialist chairs at aft. The latter three stations are enclosed in a horseshoe like shape.
To both sides of the central horseshoe shape are ramps that lead up to the highest and largest tier of the bridge. On the starboard side is the engineering station with a large L-shaped console, and the damage control station behind it. To port is the communications station, again with a large L-shaped console, and behind it the science station. At the aft side of the horseshoe shape is the tactical station, and along the back wall are multiple auxiliary stations. Access to the saucer turbolift and a doorway leading aft are also available on this tier.

The holodeck Arch door swooshes closed.
Lieutenant Commander Hauser says, "Computer, deactivate arch."
The computer arch dematerializes from view.

Hauser has recreated the bridge of the Phoenix, down to the last chair, the last station. Right now, it appear to be frozen, not active yet. She's smiling, standing near the engineering station.

Tilar steps into the holodeck, glancing back as the arch vanishes before taking a moment to take in her surroundings. They're moderately familiar; she's been on the bridge of the Phoenix enough times to recognize this. "Interesting choice," she muses with a slow nod, stepping forward.

Hauser smiles at you. "Since we're all likely to be stationed there again at some point, I thought so. Don't worry. This isn't your final. But first, anything you need to tell me about anything?" She appears relaxed and open.

"Ryu thinks I'm terrible at my job, and that I don't know anything about Joined Trill," Tilar says with one shrug of her shoulder. "Everything else is in my report." This information seems to irritate her more than upset her. While Tilar may sometimes lack confidence in areas outside medical, her confidence with her abilities as a physician remains fairly solid.

Hauser nods. "I have every confidence in you," she says mildly. "Thanks for the reports. We'll need them. You say Jetrel has transportation to Trill arranged? otherwise, we can ask the Coleman."

"Apparently she arranged the transport weeks ago," Tilar says, arms folding over her chest. "And supposedly was going to be requesting leave. I made it clear that she should have come to medical weeks ago, and that if she would prefer treatment on Trill that I would approve her leave; she doesn't need to go through either of you for that. Honestly, they can likely help this imbalance better than I can. And if it were to come down to it, there will be appropriate Hosts available there."

Hauser nods. "Though that would mean Jetrel's death. Yeah, symbiont issues aside, we'll have to have a chat once she's better."

"Which is certainly not ideal, but it's more ideal than both of them dying, which is what happens when people don't SAY SOMETHING when this happens," Tilar says with an absent gesture, expression shifting to one of undisguised irritation before she recomposes herself. "I'm not sure how much if her opinions on my abilities and knowledge are rooted in her trauma versus genuine opinion."

Hauser nods. "Nor am I. But her opinions don't matter as much as her getting the help she needs." A beat. "So, ready?" She smiles again.

Tilar nods her agreement. "Exactly," she says before puffing out a breath between her lips. "Okay. Yes. Ready. What am I doing now?"

Hauser points to the center seat. "You have the bridge. The simulation will begin when you sit down. All the stations will be manned, but not with simulacra of real officers that we both know." She grins. "Your job is simple. Command the ship. I'll be here, but I won't interfere. I won't correct you, reprimand you, or save you. The situation will begin when you take command."

Tilar gives Hauser a suspicious look. There's no animosity or mistrust, but there is that now-familiar look that Tilar sometimes gives the other woman that says 'you're making me uncomfortable to learn a lesson.' But there's also no arguing, and she crosses the bridge to settle herself down into the command chair, taking a breath as her hands settle on the armrests.

The bridge comes to life. All stations are manned. The holodeck shimmers around Hauser, and she is now hidden from your view. On the viewscreen, the stars streak past as the ship travels at warp. Helm reports, "Crossing unclaimed space, captain. We'll reenter Federation space in 27 minutes. On course at warp 8."

One hand moves to the status console at her chair as Tilar orients herself to exactly where they are, and what their course is; where they're coming from and why they're not in Federation space. "Anything to report on sensors?" she asks, eyes lifting to slide over to the science station.

"No sir," the science officer, a Denobulan, reports. "Smooth sailing." The rest of the stations are manned by various species, a Telarite at the helm, a Vulcan at tactical, and a Trill at the engineering station, and so on. Your status screen reveals the ship on course to Deep Space 3 from Earth. The unclaimed space is what you should expect to find on the route.

"Excellent. Let me know if that changes," Tilar tells the officer with a nod. For now, the crew is doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing, and the Trill 'Captain' seems content to let them do exactly that.

"Captain," the Angelite at ops looks up from his post. "We're receiving a distress call, automated signal fr now. Source is a Ferengi freighter about 3 lightyears from where we are now. The message reports a cascade failure of some kind in their engine room and increasing levels of antimatter radiation."

"How long will it take us to get there?" Tilar asks, looking over towards the ops officer.

"About 25 minutes present speed," the ops officer says. "We're at warp 8."

"How long will it take for them to experience total systems failure?" Tilar continues, turning to look between ops and engineering. "Can we reach them in time to evacuate or offer repairs?"

Your ops and engineering officers exchange a look. "Can't tell from here, sir," your engineer says. She adds, "We're out of short-range sensor range. So we won't know until we get there. But if they're experiencing an antimatter rad leak, transporters are out. They could set off a chaining explosion. We'll have to evac the hard way, and I suggest we speed up, captain ma'am.""

"Do it," Tilar agrees with a nod. "Change course to intercept, maximum warp." She looks back to the engineer. "Make sure our shields are shored up and ready to handle extra stress from the radiation and potential explosion." Then she's looking over towards ops. "Get some teams ready to help with evacuation. Notify medical to prepare for casualties."

Officers move to comply. "Should we tell the admiral we're going to be late, ma'am?" Your ops officer asks. "Admiral zh'Voro is waiting on this consignment of equipment we're bringing, and you know how she loves bad news." Cargo bay 3 does indeed show some specialized equipment, so this probably was what you were doing before getting waylaid by the distress call. "ETA now 5 minutes," Helm says.

Tilar gives a quiet chuckle at the mention of the admiral. "Yes. Send a brief message indicating that we're responding to a distress call and will inform them with our ETA when we resume course," she says before giving a nod to the helm. "Thank you. Keep me informed."

"Message sent," Ops says. You receive reports that medical teams are standing by. Since you mentioned shields, you see that your engineer has loaded the appropriate power profile. "Promary and secondary shields are standing by," she tells you.

"Acknowledged." Tilar runs her fingertips over the console beside her, doing a quick visual checks of the various reports that roll in for preparedness. "Make sure we have shuttles on standby as well as the evacuation bridges," she notes, a glance given over towards ops. "It sounds like we'll have to move fast." Then she's looking over to science again. "Anything on sensors yet? It would help if we knew how many people we need to get out of there."

"We'll have short-range sensors in 1 minute," science replies. Ops reports, "Runabout pilots on hot standby." Medical reports in from sickbay. The voice is unfamiliar, but has a gruffness to it. "I've got the amned triage centers on stand by and each runabout's got a team with it. Anymore bad news for me?"

"None yet, Doctor," Tilar says, lips curving into an amused expression. "We are likely to have radiation exposure. Other injuries are unknown at this time." Then she's nodding over to ops again. "Let the Ferengi know that we're almost there and to prepare for evacuation. Repairs might be possible, but we won't know more until we get a bit closer."

Ops sends the message. "We have short-range sensors, beginning decellration from warp," helm reports. "

"Send the ship scans to engineering for repair assessment," Tilar says as they get closer. "Get some lifesign readings. I want to know what we're looking at. Make sure medical gets those numbers as well, just in case." A glance is given back to engineering. "Take a look at those scans and let me know if repair is an option or if we need to evacuate. If we need to evacuate, let me know how much time we have."

"Captain, we are unable to scan the interior of the vessel," the Vulcan at tactical reports. "Sensors cannot establish reliable readings through the radiation interference if that is what it is."

"What do you mean, 'If that's what it is'?" Tilar asks, frowning slightly. "Do you have reason to believe there's something else going on?"

Hauser says, "Computer, freeze program." The program freezes. "Vi, the admiral from logistics is here." she glances at her remote. "We'd better tend to that. This'll pick up where you left off.""

Tilar blinks once, briefly disoriented at the pause in the program and Hauser's voice. She'd almost forgotten the other woman was there. Tilar looks over towards Hauser and her nose wrinkles at the mention of the Admiral. "Oh yay. Am I joining you?" She pauses before continuing. "Actually, I probably should as CMO, since Ryu is now on medical leave."

Hauser says, "I wouldn't have you miss out on the fun. C'mon." and she heads out"

Lieutenant Commander Hauser says, "Computer, arch"
The computer arch materializes into view.
