There isn't a lot known about the Anvilian civilization, their home planet was decimated from orbit by what was believe to be a Qee attack. The atmopshere of the planet was burned off mercilessly, destroying all surface life.
Based on DNA evidence recovered by the crew of USS Phoenix on Anvilia IV, biological signatures of the former natives allowed for identification of some Anvilians in the slave labour camps on a few other planets in the region.
