The Ushaan-class is a small, agile, yet powerful escort vessel, designed to punch as hard as it can take it. The class replaces the aging Sabre-class vessels that were repurposed for the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. The vessel is designed to work in packs of three or more, utilizing its quick maneuvering and agility to get up close and personal, while also giving the enemy multiple targets to deal with.
History
Named after the Andorian dual, Ushaan, and the similarly named Ushaan-tor, utilized in those duals.
