The Valkyrie-class is a nimble, quick, single-seat attack fighter, designed to work in squadrons of 3-6 craft. They are short range vessels, with limited communications range, and no life support, requiring the pilot to be equipped with a self-sustained life support system.
History
Technical Data
The Valkyrie II-class is a modular design, capable of swapping out tactical components, such as torpedo tubes for additional heavy cannons.
The Valkyrie III-class is also modular, but also a dual seat configuration, with the gunner to fore and pilot behind. A few additional systems were also installed, such as life support and communications, thus not requiring the crew to wear flightsuits. Though tradition still dictates they do, as does the possibilities of ejection should the craft become unstable.
The Valkyrie-class does not have the space for a deflector shield system, and utilizes the Ablative Generators. This system suffered significant degradation following a nano-virus that spread and infected every Ablative Generator system throughout Starfleet.
