A computer generated voice says, "Red Alert! All hands set condition red!"

>Intercom< Lieutenant Commander Worthington says, "bridge, commander coil has been abducted by the ship that just left the system. Battlestations."

>Intercom< Branch Admiral Kadn says, "Branch Admiral Kadn to the bridge, do you need assistance?"

>Intercom< Lieutenant Commander Worthington says, "Yes admiral, if you could join us. Our chief science officer was just abducted by parties unknown. We are attempting to work out how to respond."

Kadn asks you, "Feeling up to coming too?"

Tink smooths her hair and nods. "I think so.

Kadn says, "Down a couple of decks, if I remember where we are." He heads for the door once you are ready.

>Intercom< Branch Admiral Kadn says, "Open the damn door to the bridge."

Main Bridge <USS Buran NX-96400>
The main bridge of the Buran-class dreadnought cruiser is comprised of three tiers. Near the fore is the lowest tier where the helm and operations stations face the large viewscreen that covers the forward bulkhead. Behind that, and on the same level, are stations for the vessel commander, executive officer, and ship's counselor, as well as two additional chairs, one to each side, that do not have console access but are available for visitors. A door to port leads to the transporter room, while a second door leads starboard, and to the fourth deck corridor.
The second tier, accessed by ramps on each side, is directly behind and overlooking the lower tier stations. Here, stations for tactical and science are available.
The third tier, also accessed by ramps on each side, again overlooks the lower tiers. Here there are stations for engineering, damage control, fire control, and an auxiliary station. The ramps continue up to the tactical control room, also known as fleet operations.

Commander Svetzvani arrives from Deck 4 - Forward Corridor.

Worthington is sitting in his chair, he turns as the door opens. "Damn door open," he reports. "Welcome to the bridge."

Znaiyu says, "Tachyon pulse is powered up."

Kadn steps in with Tink, "You lost a crewmember?"

Svetzvani is hot on the Admiral's heels. She looks better than she has recently, but now there's a hint of worry in her expression.

Worthington nodds. "Yes admiral," he replies, all business. "Commander Coil was scanning the insects on the surface. While doing this, we observed someone running frantically toward the spaceport. Soon after, on my remote, I registered the launch of Maruh Josor, and very shortly after that, commander Coil was transported away. The Josor left the system, and I immediately had myself and ensign Znaiyu beamed aboard. I then confirmed that commander Coil was not aboard, and ordered red alert."

"Ready to send the Tach sir" LePage reports again from Engineering.

Kadn resists the urge to take over, instead he asks, "Were you able to tell who transported him away? Any specifics about the transporter signature? What make of ship was it, and heading?"

Worthington nodds. "Registered as a merc. I got a transponder scan. Heading of 345.3 mark -3.4, and those ships either cruise at warp 9 or 9.99, though I forget. They have stealth hull plating though sir, only detectable on short range." He jestures to LePage. "Hold on the pulse."

"Holding" LePage nods.

Svetzvani also tries to stay out of the way. She's not a member of the crew, after all, just an observer.

"If you haven't already, inform Starfleet Command over subspace what just happened." Kadn says, "Unless they are stupid, that course was a ruse." He asks, "Any trace of a warp signature?"

Worthington considers. "We haven't scanned for that yet," he replies. "The vessel launched from Dreon, so we were no doubt observed on the surface by hostiles. Ops, relay the situation to Starfleet command over secure subspace. Lieutenant LePage, ensign Znaiyu, see if you can extrapolate a warp signature."

[Remote Uplink Device (3143): USS Buran NX-96400 (Starfleet): USS Buran to Command. One of our officers, Lieutenant Commander Coil, was abducted via transporter by the vessel identifying as Maruh Josor, which launched from Dreon while we had an away team on the surface. The vessel is equipped with stealth hull plating. Destination, unknown. Hostile entities responsible, unknown at this time, though it is likely that this abduction is related to the insect infestations on this planet. Secure reports will follow.]

Kadn recalls something said earlier, "You said you saw someone running to the spaceport? Any idea who that was?"

Worthington shakes his head. "No sir, no idea in the slightest, but it is likely that they are related, involved in, or connected to this incident sir," he replies.

Znaiyu's clawed fingers runs across her console, her ears folding back. "I'm getting something. They went to warp near the planet, I can see traces of the signature. I think I've got a basic bearing. If we can catch the signature again, we might even be able to follow it..."

Svetzvani crosses her arms under her breasts and leans one hip against the rail running along one of the ramps to the upper level. She takes in the activity on the bridge, but her gaze tends to be drawn toward the Admiral more than anywhere else.

"What bearing?" LePage asks his Ensign

Worthington considers. "We'd need to be extra vigilent. No doubt they will try to throw us off the scent, make multiple false trails. It's been done before, an old trick," he cautions.

"It's the same bearing the Lieutenant caught," Znaiyu says, waving a hand towards Worthington. "Maybe they ARE stupid."

"Doubling back is also common." Kadn says. He looks at Worthington, "Lieutenant Commander, it sounds like you have a suspect, and a possible trail. I suggest you follow-up on both. Expeditously."

Worthington nodds. "Yes admiral. We don't have a specific suspect, just a visual record of a ship for our database, and a warp trail. Following that trail for now is the best we can do, that, and digging around with the local populus. We could use any help we can," he ponders, thinking. "With proper coordination, we could do both, have a team working with the magistrate planetside here to uncover anything about that ship, while the Buran investigates the warp signature sir," he says, turning to the ensign. "It's lieutenant commander, but commander will also do. Depends on how formal you wish to be."

"Even if they did double back, we might have enough to track them. They didn't take any steps to muddle their warp signature, at least not here." She sends her scans to LePag.

Kadn nods to Worthington, "That's more like it." He asks Tink, "Want to stay here, or come with me down to Dreon. See if we can dig up anything on this runner." He looks between Worth and Znaiyu, "Did either of you get a good look at the runner?"

A quick smile comes to Tink's lips. "I'll go with you," she says to Biran.

Worthington considers. "Ensign Znaiyu took interest," he says. "Commander Coil and I were not following the runner. I was observing the commander take tricorder scanns of the insects."

"I was watching them as they passed," Znaiyu agrees, narrowing her eyes in thought. "I saw them pause and note us as they neared - but it wasn't a long pause at all, and then they continued on. I assumed they had a shipment or a person to meet at the spaceport. I called out and the transporter beam appeared in the next instant."

Kadn asks Znaiyu, "Think you can recognize them if you saw them again?" He looks to Worth, "With your ok, the Ensign will accompany us to the planet."

Worthington nodds to kadn. "She may accompany you sir," he replies. "If the runner is still on the planet, she'll serve the mission objectives better with you than with us."

Znaiyu nods rapidly. "No doubt, sir," she says at once. "If he's down there, I'll recognise him." Confidence!

Svetzvani starts braiding her hair. It's not a fashion thing, it's practical.

Kadn looks to Tink and Znaiyu, "Ready?"

Svetzvani nods to Kadn, then glances at the Ensign.

Ensign Znaiyu taps a control on Damage Control Console.

Damage Control Console beeps and deactivates.

Worthington nodds to Kadn. "Good hunting admiral, commander, ensign," he says to that group. "Gordon, let's see if we can get a fix on that warp signature. I want to find these bastards."

Znaiyu leaps up from her chair, still puffed up like a furry white puffball. "Yes sir, ready, sir."

Kadn Says to Worthington and LePage, "Good hunting."

"Lemmie see here" LePage says. "With the Ensign's start, I think I can manage something good" he adds

Road <Dreon VII>
About half a kilometer long, this winding road leads up a small hill to the main colony village. The path is well worn, but shows signs of limited use of late, with small blossoms and grass poking through the topsoil.

Kadn looks around as the beam materializes, "Reminds me a little of home." He looks to be sure the Ensign and his wife also made it. "Are either of you armed?" he asks casually.

Even though she knows the answer, Tink instinctively checks her gear. "I'm afraid not," she says.

Znaiyu perses her lips, shaking her head. "No, sir. The claws are all I've got."

Kadn nods, "Lets hope we don't need them." He asks Znaiyu, "Which way was the runner running?"

Znaiyu gestures down the road towards the landing field. "That way, sir. They came from the town and headed in that direction." She takes a step in that direction as if to lead, then pauses and clears the way for her superiors.

Svetzvani glances in that direction, then indicates her readiness to go with a nod.

Kadn nods, "Lead on, Ensign." He too begins to walk that way.

Ensign Znaiyu leaves for Tarmac.

Tarmac <Dreon VII>
This large field has been mowed down to act as the landing field. The few ships that come and go help keep the grass from reclaiming the space, but that clearly isn't fully effective.

Kadn asks, "Do either of you have a tricorder? We could try and pick up the runner, it was only a few minutes ago. We'd at least know if they left on the ship or not."

Svetzvani reaches to her hip and detaches just that device. She holds it up as if to show it off, then flips it open and begins to scan.

Znaiyu takes off at a quick trot down the road, passing by the spot where she, Coil and Worthington were taking their samples. She keeps an eye out ahead, but keeps glancing over at the two very important bosses along with her. "If they did, they must have been beamed up. They can't have run this far this fast."

Commander Svetzvani uses Tricorder (6965) to scan Tarmac.

Svetzvani squints at her tricorder. "I'm not seeing any signs of transporter activity from here," she says. "Just a Bajoran DNA trace." She looks up at the Ensign. "Was the runner you saw Bajoran?"

Znaiyu nods her head rapidly, making her white main bob with the movement. "I think so, sir." She frowns, peering across the landing field. "And they can't have had much time to get away. Even with the time we spent trying to trace them up there." She indicates the sky and the invisible Buran. ""Are there other colonies on this planet?"

"I don't think so," says the Terran. She taps at her tricorder and tries to focus on the DNA trace that stands out. She takes a few slow steps in one direction, then turns and goes in another as she tries to follow a trail.

"A few I imagine." Kadn says, eyeing the ground, looking for something, anything. His gaze falls again back down the road. "They could have simply boarded the ship, if it was here, no beaming needed."

Znaiyu tilts her head back and forth, uncertain. "The ship took off almost as soon as they grabbed the Commander, as far as the other Commander said ... Could they have made it aboard in that amount of time?"

Svetzvani shakes her head. "Too many Bajoran traces here to narrow it down to just the one." She sighs, then glances at Znaiyu, noting the Ensign's uniform colors. "You're an engineer, right?" she asks. Then without waiting for an answer she proffers the tricorder. "Do you think there's something you might be able to do with this that could be helpful?"

Kadn nods slowly, waiting to see if anything can be gleaned.

"Yes Ma'am," Znaiyu says, and accepts the tricorder, turning to run her own scans. "I can try ... let's see..."

Commander Svetzvani hands Ensign Znaiyu Tricorder (6965).

Ensign Znaiyu uses Tricorder (6965) to scan Tarmac.

Znaiyu paces back and forth across the landing area, almost at a prowl, as she scans with Svetzvani's tricorder. Finally she makes a descending noise of satisfaction and offers the screen for the others to see. "I can get a faint trace headed back towards town," she says, and offers the tricorder back to its owner. "Do we follow him?"

Svetzvani takes the device with a small, thankful smile, then looks to Kadn for the answer.

Ensign Znaiyu hands Commander Svetzvani Tricorder (6965).

Kadn nods, "We do. If nothing else we can talk to the magistrate here and if you can describe him, Ensign, maybe we can get a name to the runner."

Znaiyu turns tail at once. "Yes sir, let's go!" She takes off at the trot again -not the fastest thing on two legs, but making an effort.

Kadn looks to Tink to join in, and does what he can to keep up.

Svetzvani jogs off with the kitty. She gets in close and asks, "What's your name, Ensign?"

Znaiyu flicks an ear towards Svetzvani to acknowledge her question. And let's face it, the road is pretty empty, so she turns her gaze that way too. "Znaiyu, Ma'am," she says. "And you? I know the Admiral there. I had the honour of a trip on his flagship to get out here." She smiles at the tall Bajoran in question.

Kadn hasn't been out running in awhile, most of his exercise is about lifting weights.

"Ketrinca Svetzvani, but everyone calls me Tink," says the Commander. She glances at Kadn then back at the road in front of her. "Good to meet you." That's about all of the get-to-know-ya that there's time for at the moment, so she just nods and jogs along.

Central Square <Dreon VII>
Of similar architectural design to Free Haven, this large square, technically octagonal in shape, is the central hub for the colony. A large fountain occupies the center of the square, the water within gently flowing up into multiple arcs then splashing into the pool below. Local flora is abundant as it encircles pillars and hugs walls, all neatly trimmed and cared for. There is almost always activity in the square, a communal point of interest for the colony inhabitants.
Lanes branch off from the central area to the rest of the colony complex.

Kadn follows along, a little behind the others.

Znaiyu leads the charge, such as it is, back into the town centre, panting. She's not a distance gal. Or a sprinter. There's a reason she tinkers with ships for a living. She comes to a halt at the fountain square, glancing around. "Where now? This was my first time here, today. Commander Tink, Admiral?"

The square is a little quieter now, it getting later in the day.

Svetzvani opens the tricorder again to check for that trace.

Svetzvani frowns at the results of her scans. "I... found the signal, but..." She taps the screen with one long fingernail. "The trace is older than what we saw before. I think the person came from here and went to the landing field." She sighs and looks around, then points to a nearby building. "I met with the magestrate a few days ago. That's his office there."

Kadn nods, "Lets see if there is anyone here, its getting late..." He heads for the building indicated by Tink.

Znaiyu sighs, clearly displeased with the lack of concrete results. "We can at least follow up on the record of that ship," she saysslowly. "Although if it's all the same to you, sirs, I'd like to stay out here and keep watch. He might still pass by." She bares a canine (feline?) tooth.

"We'll need you to describe him to the Magestrate," Tink says to Znaiyu. "Neither of us has seen him."

Kadn nods to that as he opens the door.

Magistrate's Office <Dreon VII>
The magistrate's office is modest in size, incidents in the colony tend to be domestic in nature. A single brig cell is available off one corner of the room, while a desk with a single chair faces inwards into the space. Behind it are a few notices.

[Central Square] Znaiyu, who has already begun eyeballing the square, pauses and almost visibly double-takes. "Oh. Right," she says, smooths her ruffled main, and steps back towards the building. "Good point."

Svetzvani goes in behind the others and immediately starts looking for Mr. Magestrate.

The magistrate is still here, even given the hour. He is surprised to have visitors though. "Can I help you?" He sees Tink, "Oh hello, welcome back." Then he sees Kadn, "Sir, er mister, you're, Kadn Biran! here, in my town. This is amazing." he looks back to Tink, "Did you bring him here?"

Znaiyu drifts back to let her superiors chat, focusing on and reading all the notices on the wall while they do. Her fur has finally settled from the adrenaline spike, and is now only mildly unruly.

"Magestrate Neru," Tink says, still trying to catch her breath. She gestures to Kadn and Znaiyu. "We apologize for bardging in like this, but we have a bit of an emergency. We're hoping you can help."

Kadn nods to the magistrate, confirming he is Kadn Biran, obviously curious as to why that is important. He does not interrupt his wife however.

"Oh of course, of course." The magistrate continues to stare at Kadn, "What can I help you with? You've been so helpful to us with the fertilizer solution. We've seen results already."

The diplomat in Tink can't help but respond, even under the circumstances. "We're very happy to hear that you've had positive results, Sir. And we will, of course, be happy to offer whatever other assistance we can in that regard. But at the moment, we're trying to find a person of interest." She gestures for Znaiyu to come forward. "Ensign, will you please describe for the magestrate the person we're looking for?"

Kadn stands aside so the Ensign can approach.

Znaiyu's eyes flicker between the Magistrate and Kadn, her whiskers twitch and quiver. It's on the tip of her tongue to ask about the reaction to Kadn ... but business first. "Yes, Ma'am." She steps forward and greets the Magistrate with a polite, but rapid, nod. "Magistrate .. Meru? We were passed on the road today by a Bajoran, so tall ..." she describes the figure as best she can, given that she saw it from a distance and in motion, and ends by adding, "And we think they were involved in a kidnapping." Firm, emphasising claw motion.

Svetzvani gives Neru a hopeful look., brows raised.

The magistrate tries to picture the man described, "Did he have long hair, rather scraggily?" at the affirmative. "I can't imagine Luro being involved in a kidnapping. Who was taken?"

Kadn says, "One of our friends, Lieutenant Commander Coil."

Svetzvani nods in agreement with Biran. "You remember him, Magestrate. The very one primarily responsible for the solution to your insect problem."

"You recognise the description?" Znaiyu asks.

The magistrate nods, "Yes, it sounds like Luro Jenun. But, I can't see him being involved in a kidnapping. I can help you locate him in the morning. No sense going out at night, we could walk right by him and never see him. It gets dark here this time of year with the cloud cover." He looks to Kadn, "If that is satisfactory, sir."

Kadn nods, "We will return in the morning then, Magistrate. Thank you for your help."

Svetzvani tosses her braid over her shoulder and thanks Neru.

Znaiyu nods as well, a touch regretful, but understanding. "Thank you, Magistrate." She flicks her tail and turns. "Till morning, then."

A shimmering swirl of colour engulfs Svetzvani.
A shimmering swirl of colour engulfs Znaiyu.
Swirls of energy whip around your deconstructed body. Shimmering lumination dances about your form uncontrollably, dazzling every sense.

Transporter Alcove <NX-10 USS Endeavour>
Along this starboard corridor is a three-quarter circle alcove. The inner walls of the alcove are covered in a metallic like surface that refract the light from the corridor lighting panels. A single stand-up console sits before the alcove where the transporter operator can control the transport process. The transporter alcove is large enough for four individials at most, but operates best when transporting biomatter one at a time. Situated to one side of the room is a four person transporter pad.

Kadn says to the Ensign, "Find yourself a bed Ensign. Your ship is still out of the system."

"Aye, sir. Thanks, sir." As if the thought of bed has brought it to mind, she yawns, tilting her head back. "Good night, Admiral and you too, Commander."
