[Viewscreen (13933)] There are more Bajorans than others in OPs aboard the station, pretty standard fair. A young Bajoran female answers your call. "This is Deep Space 9, Lieutenant Valeris, how can we assist you USS Diomedes?"

"Greetings, Lieutenant," comes the reply. A Vulcan commander sits in the center seat. She offers the Vulcan salute and goes on, "I am Commander T'Shaav. I have been sent in response to your request for more ships and assistance. I believe the matter has to do with Cardassian activity? What is your situation?"

[Captain's Chair: Incoming tactical scans from Deep Space 9]

[Viewscreen (13933)] Valeris shakes her head, "No offense to you Commander, but Starfleet Command obviously didn't take the commander's request too seriously, only sending a single ship, and a Vigilant-class as well." She sighs, "But you are here. This may be easier to show you, than tell you. If you could report aboard Commander, I will let the station commander know to expect you."

T'Shaav says, "Very well, Lieutenant, we request permission to dock."

[Viewscreen (13933)] Valeris nods, "You are clear for docking at Docking Pylon Three, Commander."

T'Shaav says, "Acknowledged, Diomedes out."

[Viewscreen (13933)] Connection to Deep Space 9 terminated.

Station Operations <Deep Space 9>
Station Operations sits near the top of the station, and is divided into four main quadrants. In the center is the operations hub, which surrounds a large table with displays on the top of it. It has the ability to display incoming and outgoing ship movements as well as a broader area display around the station. The stations circling the table provide additional operational control of the various station areas.
Next to the door to the Commander's Office is the Science Alcove. A series of consoles provide access for multiple science personnel to perform a myriad of scientific study. Opposite that is the turbolift providing access to the rest of the station.
Between the turbolift and the Commander's Office is a three-person transporter pad. A walkway traverses the circumference of the control center.

OPs hasn't changed in the last few minutes since you docked, except for one additional officer standing beside LT Valeris, this one in a Starfleet Captain's uniform, a Denobulan.

T'Shaav nods to Valeris and approaches the captain, "Commander T'Shaav, sir. Lya Station Alpha."

The Captain turns to face you, Valeris speaks, "This is the Commander of the Diomedes, sir. Who I called you about." The Captain speaks, "Ah yes, the lone ship come to save us all. Well lets just hope Starfleet Command is right, and that fleet out there is nothing." He nods to Valeris, "Put it on a console there, for Commander T'Shaav to see." He points at a console.

Valeris unlocks the mission operations console, and directs you to it.

T'Shaav takes a moment to study the sensors. She expands a section near Cardassia Prime. After a moment, she turns to the lieutenant and captain. "I see a nonstandard fleet near Cardassia which does not correspond to Cardassian military configurations, a Cardassian cruiser, and a nebula nearby which may or may not be relevant."

Captain Alox says, "Intelligence says the CMV Neterok is the flagship of Gul-tar Sorod. You may have heard of him. Leader of the Cardassian military, and declared ruler of all of Cardassia. Never elected mind you." He points at the fleet, "That fleet is believed to be the same one reported coming in from Catulla. We've not gotten short range scans of it yet to be certain. Also", he nods to Valeris.

Valeris says, "There is another ship out there, CMV ThIjuk Stik. Same class as the Neterok. But, it disappeared off sensors not long after arriving. Previous intel suggests it was one of the ships that could fire while cloaked. They may have gotten it operational again."

"That would be concerning, if true, given precisely how the Cardassians were powering their ability to fire while cloaked," the Vulcan says. "I was part of the mission that destroyed that capability." A beat. "It is possible that one lone ship with a cloak escaped our efforts. But it should not be able to fire while cloaked any longer. Do we know for certain that it can?"

Alox shakes his head, "We only know it disappeared off sensors. But if what you say is true, it at the least can't fire while cloaked. We should be wary though."

Valeris looks between the two officers, concern in her eyes.

T'Shaav nods. "I concur. We attempted to neutralize all cloakable vessels," she says. "But there was always the possibility that one escaped, even if it cannot fire while cloaked any longer. One lone ship with a standard Klingon cloaking device, and the limitations that this implies, is of little threat. If it proves to be able to fire while cloaked, that would be more concerning, because it would raise questions about the Cardassians' research and development capabilities after our mission to the Volan system."

Captain Alox asks, "Have you heard anything about these rumours the Cardassians are planning some sort of offensive? Command seems convinced it is happening in the Lya sector, but evidence here suggests not."

Valeris listens.

"There is a great deal of uncertainty about what is happening in Cardassian space, sir. Especially as regards this mercenary fleet. Do we yet know what it is doing?" She asks.

Valeris says, "It hasn't done much, ma'am. They arrived a week back, but have been sitting quiet since. The system is out of our sensor range to get any more detail. It's possible there have been shuttles going back and forth, or transports, but we just don't know."

Alox nods to his junior officer.

T'Shaav nods. "I understand. More data are required. I will report all of these items to Sector Commander DeGrut and my own commanding officer," she says. She directs her next comment more to the captain. "Sir, I am thinking ahead to next possible steps. As I am sure you are familiar with the one unique tactical capability of the Vigilant class escort, I might suggest an active patrol sweep near the Cardassian system, though that is high risk. Otherwise, a patrol of the boarder using both your Vigilant and the Diomedes working in Tandum."

"Both sound like good suggestions, Commander", Captain Alox replies. "Lieutenant Valeris, see that the Vigilant is fueled and ready as well." He clarifies, "We have standing orders not to violate the border, except in dire circumstances. If you have other ideas on how to get better intelligence, I look forward to hearing about it Commander."

"Understood," the Vulcan says. "For now, I propose the Diomedes remaining on station in this system while I send my report and receive orders. I suspect Admiral DeGrut will be as interested in further data as the rest of us, sir."

"Very good Commander." Alox nods his head.
