The powderblue carpets, the three small armchairs to one corner and the large desk in the opposite corner give this room a sense of duality; the large white oak desk with its large, high backed chair behind it and the two smaller seats in front imparts a sense of professionalism. This is offset by the powderblue coloured and cushioned armchairs in the other corner, suggesting that more personal meetings are also often conducted here. A replicator is set into the wall near the armchairs, and on the opposite side of the room are several shelves. There is an LCARS panel behind the desk.

[Viewscreen (12621)] Communications channel to Lya Station Alpha open.

[Viewscreen (12621)] "Lya Station Alpha, Interim Chief Engineer LePage speaking"

"Interim Chief Engineer LePage, this is Commodore Kadn." Kadn says. "I have a note here from Commander T'Shaav, expressing a need for some possible assistance. Did you break my station?"

[Viewscreen (12621)] "I... I uh" LePage stammers a bit as he finds himself face to face with the chief of Engineering. "No sir, I didn't break it, it was broken when I found it"

"Indeed", Kadn replies with a nod. "How go the repairs?"

[Viewscreen (12621)] LePage scratches the back of his head. "Well, we're about seven hours in here. Finished up with the imaging of the core for later study about three hours ago, and just an hour ago we finished the system purge. Completely wiped her clean. Now I'm taking the standard image from the FPCU and copying it into memory to rebuild the computer core's operating system"

"It sounds like you have things well in hand." Kadn replies with a nod. "Have you run into any difficulties?" He hmms to himself, "If I recall, the primary computer also had a tertiary backup. If I were a hacker, I would stash some code in there that could easily be reinserted after your new install. Be certain to wipe it as well."

[Viewscreen (12621)] "A tertiary backup? Do you remember where that was, it's not in the documentation from what I saw..." LePage frowns.

"Give me a moment." Kadn begins typing directly on the desk. "Tink and I did a refit of the station while we were there. I should still have the schematics on file." He continues typing and hmming to himself, "There should be an access panel from the Battery Compartment." He nods, finding it. "There should be a junction box there where you can proceed with that wipe. There is an automated system, but I wouldn't trust it, and do a hard wipe."

[Viewscreen (12621)] LePage nods as he takes all that down. "Hm, probably just didn't make the updated documentation. Thank you Sir, I would have missed that. What's going to be fun is adding back in all the station-specific modules and consoles"

Kadn hmms, "There should be a subroutine to search out all access points to handle adding most of that back in for you." He nods, "But there will be some systems undoubtedly that will require manual addition." He smiles catching your phrasing, "Fun indeed, Lieutenant."

[Viewscreen (12621)] "Ah, right the auto-discovery module... I forgot about that yeah... It's daunting to have to do this kind of full purge, but that's what the FPCU is for. I just never imagined having to use it for this kind of scenario" LePage says.

Kadn asks, "Are there any vessels docked at the station, or were docked before you started your wipe?"

[Viewscreen (12621)] "I believe that the station was frozen when the issues occured, meaning anything docked is still here and nothing new has come in" LePage nods. "Are you suggesting they'll need to be purged too?"

"Potentially", Kadn nods, "If any of those vessels were on external power, the control routines for that could have been utilized to send malicious packets to the attached vessel."

[Viewscreen (12621)] "I'll have to query the captains of those vessels" LePage sighs. "That should be... more fun"

"If they are Starfleet vessels, they will comply." Kadn says with a grin, "If not, let me know. Civilian vessels are another matter however. We can suggest they purge their system, but it will ultimately be up to the Captain of the respective ships."

[Viewscreen (12621)] "Noted. If they do agree to purge, can I dispatch our engineers, or will the onus be on them?" LePage asks

Kadn says, "On them." He hmms, "I might also suggest severing the link to any attached vessels before you re-install as well. But that may just be paranoia on my part. I would like to know how someone took complete control of a Starfleet installation so readily, it is concerning." He asks, "Now that I have interrupted your schedule, is there anything you need from me or the corps?"

[Viewscreen (12621)] "No sir, that's about the long and short of it. I still predict about eight more hours of work before we're ready for initial switchback and then a further four hours of bugsquashing if we're lucky... but I've got the road mapped out here pretty well" LePage says.

"Sounds like you do, Lieutenant, sounds like you do." He nods, "Alright, if you need me, reach out. Utopia out."
