Nolan strolls in and grabs a mug bearing the Starfleet Medical Academy logo, placing it in the replicator. "Black tea with milk please" he requests and takes the now filled mug. "Please, have a seat Lieutenant, and help yourself as you like" he says, gesturing to the replicator as he takes a seat behind his desk.

Hauser nods her thanks and heads over to the replicator. "Hmmm, a Full Moon, chilled," she orders.

Nolan watches, perhaps a bit intently as Hauser takes the drink, antennae still in concentration. He quietly waits for her to have a seat.

Hauser sits. The glass between her palms, she rotates it, studying the green liquid. "So ... how do we do this?" She asks quietly, looking up from the liquid to you.

Nolan nods. "How do we indeed..." he remarks, his own tone taking a quieter edge, pensive in nature. "I suppose the first thing I should ask is are you alright?"

Hauser nods. "I've had a few weeks to ... decompress. I guess it will be years before I'm truly ok, but I'm getting bored. Maybe that's a good sign?"

"Maybe" Nolan nods. He takes a sip of his tea, his left antenna jumping slightly in response before returning with it's twin. "Are you angry?" he asks plainly

Hauser nods. "Of course I am. SOmeone tried to murder me. I hope he rots in hell!"

Nolan nods. He pauses and steeples his fingers over the desk, looking at Jessica. His silence patiently invites her to take the lead if she'd like.

"And the one guy we have, he's not alone," she says. "So what are we doing to catch the rest?"

"Everything in our power. I'm running forensics with Phil and we're doing the best we can" Nolan replies truthfully. "Are you worried you could be attacked again?" he asks rather bluntly, his face controlled into a calm manner.

Hauser nods. "It's always possible," she says. "I don't have a reason for it, but then, it happened in the first place."

Nolan nods and sits quietly for a bit. "You seem eager to return to work, do I understand that correctly?"

Hauser nods. "I'd like to get back into it and pitch in, yeah," she says.

"To distract yourself?" Nolan probes. His eyes narrow a bit to study her.

>Intercom< Commander T'Shaav says, "Sickbay, stand by emergency incoming transport"

Nolan frowns. "Do you mind waiting a moment?"

>Intercom< Lieutenant ch'Vyran says, "Ready to recieve in 27"

Hauser says, "Looks like we better pause this, doc. You're about to be busy."

Nolan nods and gets up. "You aren't cleared until we finish our chat... but, I won't prohibit you from going to Engineering. A certain Chief has been pestering me for updates about you" Nolan says before exiting.

Nolan ducks into the supply and dressing room to get changed into his surgical clothing along with the nurses, working in hurried pace to prepare for the incoming patient.

Nolan arrives into the emergency ward wrapped in surgical garb. "Commander" he greets

T'Shaav says, "Go, doctor"

Nolan nods and heads into the operating room

Commander T'Shaav arrives from Emergency Ward - Stardrive.

Commander T'Shaav double taps her commbadge.

[T'Shaav's Commbadge] Connection to Captain Shulon terminated.

Commander T'Shaav taps her commbadge and says, "t'shaav to lepage"

[T'Shaav's Commbadge] Sending request for communication to Lieutenant Commander LePage.

[T'Shaav's Commbadge] Communications channel to Lieutenant Commander LePage open - audio only.

[T'Shaav's Commbadge] LePage says, "Chief Engineer LePage, send it"

T'Shaav speaks quietly with noises in the background. "Trace the most recent transporter signal aboard this ship. SOmeone just beamed our prisoner out of his cell and into space at the moment prisoner transport to the Saratoga was set to occur. I want to know who, where from, and how."

Jonathan Neidermeier is in much worse shape than he was only a few minutes earlier. The biobed registers no pulse or heart beat, and very little brain activity. As the body was just recently in space, it may be expected to be frozen and exploding from the vacuous environment. To which it is, but is it also extremely burned, with very little skin remaining untouched, the clothes having burned off as well.

[T'Shaav's Commbadge] "My word" LePage mutters. "Working on it Commander"

T'Shaav says, "out"

Commander T'Shaav double taps her commbadge.

[T'Shaav's Commbadge] Connection to Lieutenant Commander LePage terminated.

Nolan grimmices for a moment before stepping up to the plate. He begins ordering of his nurses. "I need a second skin compound now, apply to everything I'm not working on. Cortico-stimulants, on the order of 14 pulses a second, try and keep that brain activity going. Under no circumstances are you to use the auto compessor, you'll destroy the thoracic cavity... I need a surgical laser, I'm going to have to massage the heart" Nolan declares, positioning himself and holding out a hand expectantly.

T'Shaav says, "Those burns do not appear related to vacuum exposure, Doctor. Curious."

Commander T'Shaav taps something in on the computer interface panel.

Commander T'Shaav enters an alert code on the nearest computer interface panel.

A soft alto feminine voice says, "Yellow Alert! All stations set condition yellow!"

Nolan takes ahold of his tools once they arrive and begins to surgically slice into the thoracic cavity. Once he's got enough access to get a gloved hand in and past the ribcage, his hand is immersed up to the wrist into the charred and flaking skin of the patient. He begins to squeeze the patient's heart to keep bloodflowing. "Okay, pushing blood through. I need forced air to oxygenate the blood..." Nolan orders.

The nurse's Telarite snoute wrinkles as she watches the doctor reaching right into the body cavity. "Oxygenating now," she grunts, adjusting a few controls with her pads.

"Okay, oxy and blood going. Should be getting some flow back to the brain. Immediate concerns are answered, but we need to get a regular rythym reestablished" Nolan says. He's calm but it's obvious he's not eager to multitask. "We can't apply regular electrodes to the skin to restart the heart, what else have we got?" he asks openly.

"Dedicated nanites to repair the cardiovascular muscle tissue?" The nurse suggests. She snorts. "He will live," she declares testily.

"Repair is good but I need the electrical pulse right now, that's what we're missing..." Nolan screws his eyes shut, his forearm muscles flexing in regular rythym. "Can't go external... Who here has got the best transporter operation skills?"

"The one who tried to kill him," T'Shaav murmurs, almost too low to be heard. A human med tech steps up. "I can do it, DOc," he says, "what you need?"

"Something incredibly incredibly stupid" Nolan huffs. "Nurse, prepare a pacemaker. We're gonna beam it onto the heart and let it kickstart from the inside"

The Telarite, for once in her life, doesn't argue. Snorting under her beath, she first checks the med replication files for the device. Finding it, or something that seems to be what the doctor is asking, she brings it over. "This?" SHe grunts skeptically?

"Yep" Nolan nods. "That's the one. Get it going" The hybrid continues to pump and some might notice his antennae are wiggling in time. He looks at the med tech. "Start getting your transport ready. Cross corelate the placement as specified in the pacemaker's files with the scans from the biobed, hopefully that gives you some positioning data"

It takes the med tech a couple minutes to finish doing as asked, as it's a delicate procedure. "Ok," he says, drawing in a breath. "Medical transporter calibrated. Annular confinement beam set to 24.2 angstroms."

T'Shaav says, "Doctor, please also scan the victim for signs of explosive residue or energy discharge traces."

Nolan nods, sweat beading on his brow. "Nurse, prepare the pacemaker for deployment. Once it's ready and you're confident... take the shot" Nolan says. He turns an antenna to the Commander. "Just as soon as he stops dying, absolutely" he says with no shortage of authority for the moment.

T'Shaav's expression doesn't alter in the slightest. She is used to testy doctors. "Energizing," the med tech says as the transporter shimmers.

Nolan eyes a display and watches as data values stumble into life on the pacemaker's integrated connection. They flash and flicker haphazardly, considering the nonstandard insertion, but as soon as they're all up and looking normal, Nolan stops his massage and backs his hand out only an inch, almost ready to dive back in to resume the work. "Activate the pacemaker, now"

The med tech touches a control. "It's online," he reports.

There's a terse moment in the operating room before the EKG warbles a bit. Then after another eternal second, a sinus rythym establishes itself, the heart pumping blood with no assistance. Everyone in the room breathes a sigh of relief as the pulse monitor beeps steadily.

T'Shaav says, "Doctor, I will be placing the patient under 24-hour security watch."

Commander T'Shaav taps something in on the computer interface panel.

"Please do. And I'll get the workup going..." Nolan nods as he carefully extracts his hand. Now that he himself has a moment to breathe, he looks over the patient critically. "I can tell you one thing already Commander. Those are plasma burns, most likely"

The biometric readings on the operating table indicate the patient is alive, with pulse, blood pressure, and rhythm low, but manageable. Brain activity is however limited.

Nolan raises an eyebrow. "I hadn't considered within... I would say without given the lack of internal scarring but I'll investigate all the same"

T'Shaav says, "Keep me posted. The Saratoga is signaling." She leaves."

Nolan nods and frowns looking at the limited brain activity. It bothers him enough to make his antennae twitch. Still, he nods resolutely. "Let's get to work, he's not dying but he's not living either folks" he commands and sends his staff whirling about to begin emergency treatment
