Description

Standing here is a tall, slender and broad-shouldered man in his early twenties. Eyes of ice-blue are set in the young man's face, one that is quiet and his eyes reflect someone who seldom talks but rather observes. Refined in its youthful masculinity, his lean countenance is made up of elegant lines and smooth curves writ in olive-hued flesh warmed by relentless sun and from spending a great time outdoors. His face is marked only by a thin white scar upon his face, striking down from his right eyebrow to trace it's way along his cheek. His morning-eyes and dusken skin are echoed in the chestnut brown of his hair, cropped short and functional about his head but with enough length on top to flutter lightly in the breeze. Within that frame of twilight and darkness, the sharpest feature is his nose, nobly aquiline, it moulds his expressions and lends to them an aloof tranquillity or fierce intensity as the moment requires. Straight and slender as a spear, his body is lithe and yet sleekly muscled, with a fair broadness shoulders that is matched by the grace in him, a honed edge of balance and awareness that is worthy of a knight of old. Both his face and body are shaped and toned to equal each other in their comeliness, but he seems to be unaware of how handsome he truly is, or it could be that it is a thing that is least on his mind.

Biography

Quintin 'Quint' Henry McAllister was born on the Earth date of July 10th 2426 to Philip and Naomi McAllister, on Earth in the city of Stirling, Scotland. He is the oldest of three siblings and is naturally protective over his two sisters Elizabeth and Louise. His father made a steady career for himself working at Utopia Planita Fleetyards on the starship design team whilst his mother has recently retired from teaching.

At the age of five, Quint's father first began showing him the use of basic tools and how to make simple items, encouraging him to begin building things on his own as he became older. At the age of fifteen, he helped his father construct an extension to the family home over the summer.

Quint's formative years were spent as other children growing up do, going to school, playing sports, whilst still engaging in his growing passion for construction and repair. Arriving at senior school at the age of eleven, Quint already possessed a wealth of engineering knowledge and associated life skills thanks to both his father and his constant desire to further himself. Unfortunately for Quint, this began to have side effects on the rest of his development during his teenage years. Whilst what his teachers called 'exceptionally gifted', he was in essence a loner. The other children, sensing that Quint was not the same as they were and unable to interact sociably with them at the same level began to tease and eventually bully him through his school years.

The bullying came to a head when a group of youths surrounded Quint in the school workshop where he spent much of his time between lessons or after school hours. They took the young man and held him down over an industrial saw, taunting him with threats to sever his hand. Some said the incident was stopped before anything serious happened, others claimed the quiet loner had fought back and seriously injured one of his assailants with the saw. Whether or not true, each retelling became more and more embellished with each account. What did remain strange however, is that those involved never spoke a word about what happened, not even to confirm or deny anything, but Quint was never bullied again, although rumours persisted until even after his final day.

On finishing his secondary education at the age of eighteen in 2444, Quint spent a great deal of time talking with a Starfleet recruiter, about life in the fleet, his father's work and his possible suitability to the job. The idea of becoming a pilot and one day being responsible for a whole starship appealed to the young Quint and his mind was made up there and then.

After four years of intensive training at Starfleet Academy, Quint graduated within the top ten percent of his class in 2448, choosing to focus primarily on flight control with his intention of becoming a starship pilot. In addition to his love of flying, Quint also elected to sub-specialise in minor engineering and ground combat training. Following his graduation Quint found himself realising his dream of serving aboard a starship when he was assigned to the USS Phoenix under the command of Captain Chilis Shulon.
