Kuvas Camp <Carorkon III>
Buried deep in the desert, far away from the nearest settlement, is a collection of tents and other portable structures, and the home of one of the largest groups of Kuvassians on the planet.
The camp is clearly designed to be dismantled and moved on short notice. Likely a result of the human-led raiding parties that seek out the few Kuvassians who have escaped being enslaved.

The Phoenix' medical staff is seeing to the needs of the Kuvas. What was initially only a couple dozen has grown to near a hundred Kuvas.

Anewan wows at the progress of the camp. He walks around inspecting everything while looking for a familiar Kuvas face.

There are a lot of Kuvas here, it may take some time to find just one you recognize.

Anewan consults with a few of the medical team and asks, "Have you seen a Kuvas named Eayi? She seems to be the on in charge," he asks a doctor.

The person you speak to points to a location where there is a new gathering of Kuvas. Eayi is doing her best to welcome her people, and directing them to the medical personnel for care.

Anewan makes his way over to the big group. He walks calmly and he waves in Eayi's direction and waits for her to finish whatever she is doing

"Hello", Eayi says to you, "I am sorry, I have forgotten your name." she says. "I do apologize that so many of my people have come. But, as the healed returned to their camps, word of your help, including the food and water, has spread. Never in my lifetime have so many of my people been in the same location at once. I do hope the raiders do not come to hunt us now, we would not all be able to flee in time."

Anewan responds, "Commander Anewan," he smiles. "The humans on this planet do indeed want to cause you harm but there is one, Sheriff Fudd who believes it is not right and at this time is keeping them at bay. My ship also has security and we will help protect you," he pauses. "I came down just to see how things are going and if you are comfortable showing us the mural yet? I believe that most of the humans will be leaving and I would hate to leave you here, however, I have been told you as individuals could also join the federation if you like."

"So far nearly everyone I have spoken to wishes to return to our ancestral home." Eayi says, "But there are some who want to learn more of the Federation, myself included." She frowns at the mention of Fudd, but makes no comment. "Yes, I have been granted permission to take one or two of your people to see the mural. I have sworn that you will not harm it in any fashion. Please do not make a liar of me."

Anewan smiles and nods, "Permission? From who?" he asks. Then he says, "I can invite you to the ship. However, it will have to be on a seperate schedule than the humans here. We can work out a rotation."

Eayi says, "No one Kuvassian has power to say what another can do. We have a system where several have been chosen as leaders, I am one of the chosen. Together, we do our best to determine what is right and wrong for our people, and to protect them." She asks a little concerned, "You do not want us mingling with humans aboard your ship?"

Anewan smirks softly, "We have some work to do with the humans from this planet," he pauses. "The humans on the ship from earth should be fine to mingle with. Mostly. But yes, the humans from this planet, we do not want you to mingle." another pause, "We have people on our ship who specialize in reading maps. I can send that person down and or I can take an image and pass it along."

Eayi says, "The fewer people who see it directly, the better." She nods and smiles about the humans on this planet. "I understand." She says, "We can go now, if you like?"

Anewan nods, "Please. I'd like to see it," then he adds. "With the treatment you have received, why would some want to join the federation?"

"I said I and some others would like to learn more of the Federation." Eayi says, "I want to see for myself if it is as open and free as you claim it to be. It sounds too good to be true." She leads the way out of the camp and into the desert proper.

Anewan follows thinking about what to say, "The only way to do that is for you to go?"

Eayi continues to lead you in circles through the desert. She is not lost, but is purposefully not taking you on a direct route. "Your actions have spoken greatly towards what the Federation is. But, is it so hard to believe I would want to see more of it, to truly grasp what it is it offers?"

Anewan follows, "We offer peace. We offer security. We offer community," he chuckles. "We also offer education but the humans on this planet," he air quotes, "Don't want no schooling."

Eayi chuckles softly. "One of their laws forbids teaching Kuvas anything. They also make no point to have schools in their towns. It is not a wonder why they haven't progressed like you have." She continues through and around hills and valleys in the desert. "There is a classroom in the remains of our ancestors ship, but the humans that hunt us found it, and come their often looking for their prey."

Anewan nods continuing to follow, "It is the first location that we found AND we were caught there and told that it was off limits," he shrugs. "We have learned that lack of information is a key tool in populations trying to supress others."

Eayi rounds another bend to a narrow trail. The air cools slightly, and the light dims as a large rock extends overhead. She grabs a torch and leads the way inward. "My people often come here to escape the heat, do not be startled if they appear in the darkness."

Anewan nods, even if hs may or may not be seen. "I understand," he looks at the rock. "Is this it?"

Eiya shakes her head, "You will know it when you see it." She rounds another bend in the darkness to a wide room lit by additional torches. Several Kuvas are sitting cross-legged on the floor staring at the far wall. It is not actually the wall, but a piece of the interior of the crashed Kuvassian ship. An inner bulkhead with a large mural painted upon it. It must have taken some doing for the Kuvas to drag this massive piece of bulkhead into this cavern home. The mural is as indicated, that of the Kuvassian homeworld. A city stretches out across the mural, behind it the night sky. Great care went into making the mural, and clearly great care has been taken in protecting it.

Anewan nods respectfully to any who are paying attention to him and he looks at it, "This have been here for centuries?"

Eiya nods, "It has. Our history says it was brought here not long after the crash. Hidden, and kept safe." She looks around at her people, "To this day, it is still considered a sacred relic. Evidence of a time before we were presecuted." She sighs, "Though also evidence of what our ancestors did to the ancestors of the humans on this world. There is no doubt, the ship that brought us all here was Kuvassian."

Anewan comforts, "All species have learned things from their past. We are here and we are saying that we can move forward," he reaches for his tricorder. "I have a device that scan get images of this mural. It will not harm it and it will give us much information," he motions to it. "Do you mind?"

Eiya says, "You will scan me first, so that I know it will not harm the mural."

Anewan nods and uses 'kylie' to scan Eayi.

Eayi watches you and feels nothing as the scan proceeds. "You may scan the mural."

Anewan turns to the mural and uses the tricorder very delicately and takes a few scans of the mural and says, "Let's hope this is accurate. We assume that your ancestors were headed back to your home world. Let's also assume that they were taking a direct route."

Eayi nods slowly, "it is all we have, I hope it is enough." She watches you carefully as you take your scans.

Anewan nods, "I think that is all I need," as he simply takes a holo-image as well. "I think that's all I need," he turns to Eayi, "Do you have any requests that we can accomdate at the moment? Is everything going OK?"

Eayi looks anxious to get you out of here, "Yes, but we can talk on our return to the camp."

Anewan notices the anxiety and begins to follow, "Yes. Of Course. Lead the way."

Eayi leads you out of the cavern and back into the hot desert. She doesn't retrace your earlier route, instead she takes a different one, still meandering around. Eventually you both arrive back at the camp. She asks, "If you have never been to our ancestral home, how will you find it from a picture?"

Anewan smiles, "If your ancestors drew a starmap, we can find those stars. If not, you can find a better home somewhere in the federation. But, we will look, We want you to be with your people. We want to meet your people and be friendly with them. The humans on this planet do not represent the federation," he pauses. "If you ever want to come aboard the ship, let me know."

Eayi asks, "Your ship you mean? I do want to see it, but there is much to be done down here still." She says, "I hope you can find it." she excuses herself and goes to help some of her people find the right doctor.
